Nick Foles Excited To Be With Eagles For 'At Least One More Year'

Jun 29, 2018 5:37 PM

Nick Foles remains with the Philadelphia Eagles on a restructured contract, but his long-term future with the team is in question.

"I would love the opportunity to lead a team," Foles told Fox Sport's First Things First morning show. "Now, let me also say this, I'm not just going to go to a team and say, 'Hey, I want to lead this team,' and not see where they are. It's about an environment. ... So if that does come to be, I want to find the right [place], be with the right team, a team like the Philadelphia Eagles organization. They do it the right way. It's an amazing locker room with amazing leaders and coaches. I've been blessed to be a part of it. That's why I'm not running away.

"They had me under contract this year. Everyone wanted to know where I was going to be. I'm grateful to be a part of it. They restructured my deal. They wanted me there. I wanted to be there this year. We'll see what happens after the season, but I'm excited about this 2018 Eagles season. I get to wear that jersey at least one more year, and I'm super excited about wearing it one more year."

Foles has only started seven games over the past two seasons, but led the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory in February.

The quarterback's restructured deal includes a mutual option for 2019.

Carson Wentz Isn't Sure When He'll Be Cleared For Full Contact

Jun 14, 2018 8:39 AM

Carson Wentz participated in seven-on-seven drills last week, but isn't sure when he'll clear what the Philadelphia Eagles are calling his final hurdle.

Wentz hopes to start in Week 1, but training camp is just six weeks away and the quarterback isn't sure when he'll be cleared for full contact.

"I think the biggest thing right now is just keep pushing along until I'm cleared," Wentz said. "There's little benchmarks along the way, but there's nothing huge. As you see out here, I'm doing quite a bit. The biggest, last hurdle is going to be the contact part."

Wentz will continue to rehab and work out when OTAs are over.

"The medical staff will put those benchmarks in place for him from a health standpoint," Doug Pederson said. "Those are all things that are kind of out of our control [and] my control right now. It's just a matter of steady progression as we build toward training camp. He's going to work extremely hard over the next month, month and a half, and be ready for camp, obviously, and then we'll just reevaluate. But those boxes will all get checked, based on what our doctors and training staff will put forth for him."

If Wentz isn't ready, Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles will be the team's starter.

"It's hard to say I need X to be ready," Wentz said. "I think, at the end of the day, I just need to be cleared for contact. Like you see out here, I'm doing quite a bit. I think, come camp, I'll keep progressing and doing more and more. To finally be cleared of that contact issue is really the last hurdle, and I feel I'll be ready whenever that is."

Brandon Graham Fine With Playing Out Contract With Eagles

Jun 11, 2018 8:40 AM

Brandon Graham is entering the final year of his four-year, $26 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The defensive end is content playing out the deal if that's what happens.

"You always want to be secure, but I'm OK with whatever because at the end of the day, next week we get that [Super Bowl] ring," Graham said. "If we didn't have the team we have then I would say let's get secure, but we got a great team to do it again. ...

"We'll get [the contract] done however it go. I'm 30 years old and I understand this is a business, too. But I got to keep showing them that I'm just going to keep taking it up and go out on my terms."

He posted a career-high 9.5 sacks in 2017 to go along with 47 tackles and two forced fumbles. However, he underwent offseason ankle surgery.

Donald Trump Cancels Tuesday's White House Visit With Eagles

Jun 4, 2018 7:48 PM

Donald Trump has canceled his scheduled visit for Tuesday with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Trump released the following statement:

"The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow. They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country. The Eagles went to send a smaller delegation but the 1,000 fans planning to attend the event deserver better. These fans are still invited to the White House to be part of a different type of ceremony- one that will honor our great country, pay tribute to the heroes who fight to protect it, and loudly and proudly play the National Anthem. I will be there at 3:00 p.m. with the United States Marine Band and the United States Army Chorus to celebrate America."

According to Mike Garafolo, there were going to be fewer than 10 players to attend the White House.
