Jay Ajayi Wants To Return To Workhouse Role

May 31, 2018 8:42 AM

Jay Ajayi wants to be a workhouse for the Philadelphia Eagles next season.

The Eagles acquired Ajayi from the Miami Dolphins at midseason in 2017. He split time with LeGarrette Blount and Corey Clement as the team rolled toward a Super Bowl title.

Blount left in free agency, but Darren Sproles is back after an ACL injury. The Eagles also have Wendell Smallwood, Donnel Pumphrey and Matt Jones on the roster.

"Obviously, things have gotten a little shaken up in our room," Ajayi said. "I'm excited to get into that lead role, do what's needed of me and just go bull. It was kind of a year and a half removed from being 'the guy.' So I'm excited to kind of get back in that role and showcase again to the world what I can do."

Ajayi is entering the final year of his rookie deal.

Nick Foles Never Heard About Browns Trade Offer

May 30, 2018 9:27 AM

The Cleveland Browns reportedly offered the 35th pick in this year's draft to the Philadelphia Eagles for Nick Foles earlier this offseason.

The Eagles rejected the offer, according to the report, in part because Foles had no desire to leave Philadelphia.

Foles said Tuesday that he heard of the offer when he received text messages about the report.

"I haven't turned down anything," Foles said. "We haven't talked about anything. ... At the end of the day, I'm not the G.M. of the team. I have a great relationship with Howie [Roseman] to where if something did happen, we could have a discussion. But at the end of the day, he gets to decide."

The Philadelphia Eagles have been invited to celebrate their Super Bowl LII victory at the White House on June 5.

The team was initially invited in late April, but they released a statement that they were working through the logistics of the visit and viewed it "not only as an opportunity to be recognized for our on-field achievements, but also as an opportunity to engage in productive dialogue with the leaders of our country."

Malcolm Jenkins, Chris Long and Torrey Smith, now with the Carolina Panthers, have said they would not attend if an invitation were presented.

Brandon Graham Has Ankle Surgery, Could Miss Workouts

May 16, 2018 8:30 AM

Brandon Graham is recovering from right ankle surgery and could miss the Philadelphia Eagles' spring workouts, according to sources.

Graham had the procedure May 1 and is currently in a protective boot.

The Eagles are hoping he can at least be ready for training camp in July, sources said.

He played in each of Philadelphia's playoff games despite suffering a high ankle sprain on Christmas night against the Oakland Raiders and skipping the final game of the regular season.

Graham, 30, is in the final year of his contract. Despite some negotiations over the past several months, the two sides have been unable to strike a new deal so far.

Carson Wentz Will Pick His Spots Better After Injury

May 3, 2018 8:27 AM

While Carson Wentz plans to remain aggressive, he has discussed the importance of protecting himself with members of the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive staff.

Wentz is taking his self-preservation seriously and acknowledges that he'll have to pick his spots a bit more moving forward.

"We've talked about it quite a bit," Wentz said. "I think we're all on the same page.

"I think there is always things I can learn from, 'OK, maybe I shouldn't have been so aggressive there.' There is a time and a place for it. Injuries happen. I believe this one was kind of a freak incident and that is just part of the game. There is always a learning curve. But overall, as an aggressive player, I am not going to change in that sense, I am just going to keep learning. I'm going to be learning how to preserve myself, how to be smart, when to take those chances, when it's worthwhile, it's a constant learning throughout my career, but it's definitely something I am taking seriously at the same time."

Wentz tore the ACL and LCL in his left knee against the Los Angeles Rams in December on a play in which he scrambled and dove head-first into the end zone.
