Brandon Graham Still Waiting For New Deal With Eagles

Mar 29, 2018 8:22 AM

Brandon Graham, who is under contract for one more year, is still waiting for a new deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Both Graham and Howie Roseman both expressed a desire to work out a new deal in the wake of the team's Super Bowl victory. The Eagles drafted Graham in the first round back in 2010.

"Brandon is a hugely valuable part of our team," Roseman said this week. "Obviously, he's in the last year of his deal and he's one of the most productive players at his position. He deserves whatever he can get. At the same time, we have a cap and we're trying to fit everyone in. We're trying to fit as many good players.

"We went through this yesterday -- we have a lot of players who are under contract, not only for 2018, 2019, but when we get into the 2020s, and they're good players. We want to keep as many of them around as possible and add players on top of it. That's a challenge, that's a puzzle that we're trying to figure out. But it's a good problem to have."

The Eagles currently have about $5 million in cap space and may have to get creative if they are going to add years and money to what remains on Graham's contract.

Wentz tore the ACL and LCL in his left knee in December against the Los Angeles Rams. Recovery time for such an injury is typically nine to 12 months, but Wentz has set Week 1 as his target for a return.

Wentz recently posted a video on social media of himself throwing inside the Philadelphia Eagles' practice facility.

Eagles Didn't Receive Any Tempting Trade Offers For Nick Foles

Mar 25, 2018 11:09 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles didn't receive any serious offers for Nick Foles this offseason.

The Eagles were unlikely to trade Foles unless they received a first round pick.

"We did not," Doug Pederson said when asked if the team got any interesting trade offers for Foles. "Nothing too crazy. It had to be the right deal for us to do that. But there wasn't anything coming down our way for Nick."

Foles will revert back to being Carson Wentz's backup.

"He's totally fine being that mentor, sort of in that backup role, helping Carson along the way," Pederson said of Foles. "That's who Nick is. That's who he is. And when called upon, he's going to perform, but he understands this is Carson's team and he's going to support him every way he can."

Michael Bennett Indicted On Charge From Super Bowl LI

Mar 23, 2018 7:38 PM

Michael Bennett was indicted Friday by a Texas grand jury on a felony abuse charge for allegedly injuring an elderly NRG Stadium worker following Super Bowl LI last year.

Prosecutors claim Bennett, 32, injured the victim after he pushed his way onto the field after being told to use another entrance for field access.

"We are aware of the situation involving Michael Bennett and are in the process of gathering more information," the Eagles said in a statement. "Because this is an ongoing legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time."

The charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

An arrest warrant has been issued, and the Harris County DA said it has been in contact with Bennett's counsel regarding his surrender. Houston Police Dept. Chief Art Acevedo said his department has been in contact with the NFL over the incident.
