Zach Ertz On Pace To Break Tight End Catch Mark

Nov 28, 2018 8:58 AM

Zach Ertz has 84 catches for 895 yards this season, putting him on pace for a historic season.

The record for catches in a season by a tight end is held by Jason Witten. He hauled in 110 passes in 2012, but Ertz is on pace for 122 catches for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Ertz is also on pace for 1,300 yards. No tight end has surpassed that yardage total and caught 100 passes in NFL history.

Eagles Find It 'Challenging' To Mix Golden Tate In Offense

Nov 21, 2018 8:36 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles haven't found mixing Golden Tate into their offense to be an easy task.

The Eagles traded a third-round pick to the Detroit Lions for Tate.

"I don't know if it's been more difficult, but it's been challenging to integrate him," offensive coordinator Mike Groh said. "Certainly, with the way we weren't able to stay on the field the other day, and finding a rhythm for the offense, that part of it, then everything becomes a bit disjointed. If we can do a better job of staying on the field and having drives, then everybody gets more involved in the offense."

Tate has a total of seven catches for 67 yards in his first two games with the Eagles.

"Roles changed a couple weeks ago, so, again, [we're] trying to find a rhythm with the substitutions and getting guys in the right spots," Groh said. "We haven't done a good job with it in the last two weeks, or good enough, to get the results that we want."

Malcolm Jenkins Flipped Off Sean Payton After Late Touchdown

Nov 19, 2018 8:37 AM

The New Orleans Saints dominated the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, winning 48-7 at the Superdome.

There was some controversy late as cameras caught Malcolm Jenkins giving Sean Payton the finger after the Saints went for it on fourth-and-6 early in the fourth quarter with a 31-point lead. On the play, Alvin Kamara beat Jenkins for a 37-yard touchdown.

Jenkins played for Payton in New Orleans before coming to the Eagles a few years ago.

"I'm a competitor. I love Sean to death. I know what type of guy and coach he is. That was more so personal between me and him," Jenkins said.

"We talked after the game. It's all good. I know Sean. They're going to go for it. I was more so upset that it was on me."

Payton explained that he wasn't comfortable electing for a field goal try from that distance, and he didn't want to get burned by not keeping the foot on the gas with almost a full quarter left.

Jason Kelce: Accountability Behind Eagles' Struggles

Nov 15, 2018 8:24 AM

Jason Kelce believes a lack of accountability is the root of the Philadelphia Eagles' struggles.

"Last year, it just seemed like everybody was clicking. We had guys like Brent Celek who had been here a long time who was very accountable, Torrey Smith who had been in the league for a long time, very accountable. Mack Hollins was a guy that gave great effort," the lineman said. "LeGarrette Blount and all of these running backs that, they had their limited amount of stuff that they had to know, but they knew what to do, and they knew how to do those things. That's what we're missing. We're missing that accountability."

Kelce stressed that he isn't suggesting current players on the team are "bad guys" or giving poor effort, but that a mix of departures and injuries have depleted them in areas both tangible and intangible.

"This isn't just players, this is coaches, this is everybody. Everybody takes accountability in making sure that everybody is ready to go. From a players' standpoint, it's on you to make sure that you're watching the film, you're doing everything during the week necessary for you to improve, to make sure that you understand the finer coaching points, every little detail, so that when you're in the middle of the game, you're not playing slow or apprehensive, you know exactly what you have to do and you can go 100 percent and give great effort. And it's also on the coaches to make sure everybody's ready to go," he said.

Ezekiel Elliott: Eagles Game A 'Must-Win' For Cowboys

Nov 8, 2018 8:14 AM

The Dallas Cowboys are 3-5 and Ezekiel Elliott says this Sunday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles is a "must-win."

"One hundred percent, yeah. It's a must-win," Elliott said. "Being a division game, that makes it that much more important. So I mean definitely it's a must-win."

The Cowboys are two games back in the NFC East, but have four division games left.

"We've definitely talked about having that mentality -- us versus the world," Elliott said. "We've got to go out there and win as many ballgames as we can to give ourselves an opportunity to get in the playoffs. We need to attack that the right way and prepare so we're ready."
