Market For Kolb Is Shrinking

Nov 12, 2014 6:02 PM

Of the teams that needed a quarterback heading into this week's NFL Draft, about half of them grabbed one in the first two days of the selection process. That lowers the number of suitors for Philadelphia's Kevin Kolb, who remains with the team due to the league's lockout and restriction on trades. The Philadelphia Inquirer writes that Seattle, Arizona, Miami, Washington, Buffalo, and Cleveland are the teams still most in need of a quarterback.

Vick Rips Dog Fighting Application

Sep 22, 2014 7:14 PM

Michael Vick and the Humane Society said on Monday that an application built to run on Google's Android glorifies dogfighting. The cellphone app is called "Dog Wars" and lets players feed, water, train and fight their virtual dogs against others. "I've come to learn the hard way that dogfighting is a dead-end street," Vick said in a statement posted on the Humane Society's website. "Now, I am on the right side of this issue, and I think it's important to send the smart message to kids, and not glorify this form of animal cruelty, even in an Android app."

Vick Hopes To Grace Madden Cover

Oct 31, 2014 3:02 PM

Michael Vick has the chance to become the first NFL player to appear on the cover of the Madden video game franchise twice. Vick is one of two players -- Browns running back Peyton Hillis is the other -- left from 32 possible choices to grace the cover of Madden NFL 12. Fans have been voting on ESPN.com since March 21 to select the cover athlete in an NCAA tournament-type process. The winner will be announced on Wednesday. "The first time, I really wasn't too big on having the opportunity," Vick said in an interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I appreciated it, but this time around I think I will appreciate it so much more. I took a lot for granted early in my career. It was a great opportunity at the time, but now it will be so much more satisfying. To show it to my kids and say I was able to accomplish."

Eagles OK With Dealing First-Rounder

Sep 11, 2014 7:13 PM

The Eagles have the 23rd overall pick in next week's NFL Draft and a number of quarterbacks are projected to go in the latter half of the first round. "Especially where we are in the first round, I think that's where you anticipate some of the quarterbacks coming up," Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said. "Obviously we're a great place in the draft to get some of those quarterbacks where they're slotted to go if someone wants to come up and get some of those quarterbacks." Philadelphia is known for their wheeling and dealing at the draft. They've made 29 trades during the draft over the last eight years, including 16 in the past three drafts and six last year.

Eagles More Likely To Trade Down Than Up

Nov 6, 2014 9:52 PM

The Eagles own the 23rd pick in next week's NFL Draft. The Philadelphia Daily News writes that the team is more likely to trade down than trade up in the first round. The Eagles have traded up in four of the last eight years. "We're open to explore any options that we think make us better," general manager Howie Roseman said. "Whether it's moving up or moving down, we're open. "I wouldn't be shocked if we drafted there [at 23]. I also wouldn't be surprised if we got a great offer and moved down. We're open to all those options. We're in a great place in the draft for somebody to get some of those quarterbacks."

Kolb Expected To Stay Put For Now

Oct 15, 2014 11:45 PM

As the days pass, it is becoming more and more likely that Kevin Kolb will remain with the Eagles through the NFL Draft. The NFL's lockout remains intact, which complicates trade possibilities. However, Philadelphia's willingness to move the quarterback means a deal is likely before the start of the 2011 season.

Eagles Want More From 2010 Draft Picks

Oct 15, 2014 11:51 PM

The Eagles want to get more production out of their selections from last year's NFL Draft. Philadelphia drafted 13 players last spring and they contributed significantly in their first season. Ten of their rookies appeared in games, including 34 starts. Specifically, the Eagles would like to see more from defensive end Brandon Graham, who remains a top prospect. Graham and safety Nate Allen were both having terrific seasons before season-ending knee injuries.
