Eagles Want Players, Not Picks For Kolb

May 16, 2014 10:10 PM

Sal Paolantonio of ESPN.com said in a recent radio appearance that he thinks the Eagles are looking for players in return for quarterback Kevin Kolb instead of draft picks. His opinion leads credence to the idea that Philadelphia could acquire a player like Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in a deal with Arizona for Kolb. Rodgers-Cromartie began to be mentioned in trade rumors when the Cardinals drafted Patrick Peterson in the draft.

Kolb Expected To Land In Arizona Or Seattle

Sep 21, 2014 10:08 AM

Jason La Canfora of NFL.com believes that Philadelphia's Kevin Kolb is the quarterback most likely to be traded once the league year resumes. "It's go West young man. Most of the people I talk to in the league believe it's a two-horse race between Arizona and Seattle," La Canfora writes. "The Eagles want first-round compensation, and if the market bears only a second and a little something else, then sources say there is a very real chance Philly holds on to him as insurance for 2011. Ultimately, I think they get the first-round pick for him, though. If not, he stays."

McNabb Works Out With Former Eagles Teammates

Nov 17, 2014 10:01 PM

Donovan McNabb took part in an informal player workout with some of his former Eagles teammates on Wednesday. McNabb was in the Philadelphia area for the dedication of the new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Voorhees Replacement Hospital, which he helped fund. "I'm just working out right now," McNabb told CSNPhilly.com. "As you can see, I'm in some great shape, and I'm only going to get better." McNabb hasn't taken part in any of Washington's informal workouts. He isn't expected to be with the team next season and has famously vowed that his 2011 season will be "special."

Eagles, Cowboys, Ravens Are Favorites For Asomugha

Aug 12, 2014 11:04 PM

The Eagles, Cowboys and Ravens appear to be the favorites to land free-agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha once free agency begins. Free agency has been delayed by the NFL lockout, but Asomugha is expected to command top dollar and tons of attention once a labor agreement is reached. Peter Kings of Sports Illustrated labeled Asomugha as the best defensive free agent since Deion Sanders.

Eagles Appear Prepared To Make Splash

May 17, 2014 6:04 AM

The Eagles aren't going to tip their hand, but owner Jeffrey Lurie has a positive outlook on the team's future and the moves they may make when the NFL lockout ends. "We're ready to roll when there's a new league year, and we're all very excited both about the opportunities for free agency and whatever other opportunities exist," Lurie said. "We've been ready to roll for a while. We've got a great plan in place, and you never know what you can accomplish, but I know we're going to be both aggressive and hopefully make the right decisions. "It's frustrating to be a team that's poised to make some of the moves we want to make and not be able to. I think we'll be very excited when the league year starts."

Avant: Eagles Could Use Burress In Red Zone

Sep 12, 2014 9:19 PM

Eagles wide receiver Jason Avant wouldn't mind seeing Plaxico Burress become a teammate. "I really don't pay attention to that, but I hope he does well, though," Avant said when asked about the possibility of Burress signing with the Eagles. "I want him to succeed in whatever he does. If that means Philadelphia, great. We could use him in the red zone." The Eagles were 15th in red zone scoring percentage last season (52.46 percent). "We can always use a guy that's a basketball 6-9 and a football 6-7 in the red zone," Avant said.

Asomugha Not High On Philly's List

Nov 14, 2014 11:05 AM

The Eagles are believed to have extreme interest in cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. However, Clark Judge of CBS Sports writes that Philadelphia may not be too high on Asomugha. "There's no question that Asomugha will be a hot property. He's one of the game's elite defenders, so proficient that once he hits the free-agent market a bidding frenzy should erupt," Judge writes. "But don't expect the Eagles to join the charge. I don't. And neither do others who are close to the organization."
