Matthew Stafford injured his right thumb in the Los Angeles Rams' 43-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, but coach Sean McVay said after the game that he didn't have any more information on the quarterback's status.

McVay did say Stafford injured his thumb while making a catch on a 2-point conversion. McVay said Stafford had banged his thumb on a helmet on an earlier play but that the injury came when he dove into the end zone.

The Rams have placed running back Kyren Williams on injured reserve, the team announced Saturday.

Williams, who injured an ankle in Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals, will miss at least four games. The second-year running back will be eligible to return in Week 12 against the Cardinals.

After injuries to running backs Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers, the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday signed Royce Freeman to the active roster and Darrell Henderson to the practice squad.

Both Williams and Rivers sustained injuries in Sunday's victory over the Arizona Cardinals, and McVay didn't give a specific timeline for their return, saying only that "the initial prognosis looks like it's going to be challenging for those guys in the immediate future."

The Atlanta Falcons have acquired Van Jefferson from the Los Angeles Rams.

The Falcons will send a 2025 seventh-round pick to the Rams for a sixth-round selection in the same year.

Jefferson is in his fourth season out of Florida, and he has eight catches for 108 yards and no touchdowns this season.
