Colts Cut Gamblers Due To 'Integrity Of The Game'

Jun 30, 2023 10:27 AM

The Indianapolis Colts have released Isaiah Rodgers and Rashod Berry after the pair were suspended for the 2023 season for violating the NFL's gambling policy.

Chris Ballard said the team stands unequivocally for "the integrity of the game."

"We ... made the roster moves as a consequence of the determination that these players violated the league's gambling policy," Ballard said in a team statement. "The integrity of the game is of the utmost importance. As an organization we will continue to educate our players, coaches and staff on the policies in place and the significant consequences that may occur with violations."

Seeking Deal, Jonathan Taylor Wary Of How NFL Values RBs

Jun 15, 2023 8:37 AM

Jonathan Taylor is beginning to wonder what the NFL's running back market will soon mean for him.

Taylor, who is entering the final season of his rookie contract, is guardedly optimistic about his future in the wake of recent developments around players like Dalvin Cook and Saquon Barkley.

"You definitely have to pay attention, just so you know, 'OK, what type of space are you entering into?'" Taylor said. "And you just hope from the track record here [in Indianapolis] that things are being evaluated the right way."

Taylor, who rushed for a franchise-record 1,811 yards in 2021, is coming off a down season in which he battled a nagging ankle injury that limited him to 11 games.

The 24-year-old said he has had some talks with the Colts and remains optimistic a deal can be worked out. "We definitely have approached [the contract]," he said. "Hopefully they can see the value."

Report: NFL Investigating Colts Player For 'Pervasive' Betting

Jun 6, 2023 8:20 AM

The NFL is investigating an Indianapolis Colts player for "pervasive" betting, according to a report.

The report states that the league has evidence that the player in question "placed hundreds" of bets, and that at least some were placed on the Colts.

A "considerable" number of wagers reportedly were placed from inside the team's practice facility.
