Anthony Richardson Underwent Shoulder Surgery Tuesday

Oct 25, 2023 8:38 AM

Anthony Richardson is done for the season, but the Indianapolis Colts quarterback is on the road to recovery.

Richardson underwent season-ending surgery Tuesday to repair his injured right shoulder, Jim Irsay announced on social media.

"QB Anthony Richardson’s surgery today in LA was a success!" Irsay wrote. "It was a long procedure and his shoulder injury has been repaired. No new surprises were found during surgery -- they just repaired what was expected. Anthony is doing well and thanks everyone for the support. (There is presently no date for his return.)"

Richardson was injured on a designed run during the Colts' Week 5 victory over the Tennessee Titans.

Jim Irsay Says NFL 'Admits' Incorrect Calls In Colts' Loss

Oct 25, 2023 8:27 AM

Jim Irsay says the NFL "admits and understands" that two pivotal calls at the end of the Indianapolis Colts' loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 7 were incorrect.

Irsay, who posted the statement on X, was likely referring to the Colts' expected follow-up with league officials to get further clarification on the illegal-contact and defensive-pass-interference calls in the final minute against cornerback Darrell Baker, Jr.

The calls put the Browns in position for a 39-38 victory.

The illegal-contact call negated a would-be sack-fumble that Indianapolis recovered -- a play that would have, effectively, ended the game. At issue on that call was whether Baker actually impeded Amari Cooper's route or whether the contact was more incidental.

The pass-interference penalty moments later was called despite the throw to Donovan Peoples-Jones arguably being uncatchable.

Jonathan Taylor On Colts Future: 'I'm Here Right Now'

Oct 6, 2023 8:27 AM

Jonathan Taylor returned to practice with the Indianapolis Colts this week, but his long-term future with the team is still very much clouded even after his first comments in nearly four months.

Taylor, the All-Pro running back who has been in a protracted contract standoff with the Colts, said that he is finally healthy after right ankle surgery.

When asked whether he wanted to be with the team going forward -- particularly in light of his earlier trade request -- Taylor's answer spoke volumes.

"I'm here right now," he said.

Taylor added, "I don't think it matters if I'm saying I'm committed or not, because I'm here. If somebody wasn't committed, they wouldn't be here. And right now, I'm here, and my No. 1 goal is to attack this first practice. It's been over 290 days, I believe."

Taylor has not practiced or played for the Colts since December, when he reinjured his right ankle and was placed on injured reserve for the final three games of the season.
