Colts Plan On Firing Chuck Pagano

Jan 2, 2016 11:50 AM

The Indianapolis Colts plan on firing Chuck Pagano as head coach.

The consensus has been that Pagano would not return next season after he turned down a contract extension.

The Colts struggled this season and his relationship with Ryan Grigson turned "toxic."

Grigson helping to find Pagano's replacement does not guarantee that he'll be retained as general manager.

Report: Peyton Manning Received HGH Supply In 2011

Dec 28, 2015 11:22 AM

Peyton Manning has been listed in a new Al Jazeera report as one of several prominent professional athletes who were supplied illegal performance-enhancing drugs from a pharmacist who once worked at an Indiana-based pharmacy.

Manning was reportedly given a supply of human growth hormone in 2011 while he was recovering from his 2011 neck surgery from a pharmacist then employed at the anti-aging Guyer Institute in Indiana. The report cites the pharmacist, Charlie Sly, who allegedly spoke to an undercover reporter working for the network.

In the report, titled "The Dark Side," Al Jazeera says in an article shared in advance with The Huffington Post that steroids and other drugs were shipped to the home address of Manning in 2011 in the name of his wife, Ashley Manning.

Sly also accused Manning and his wife in the undercover video of going to the clinic after its normal business hours for intravenous treatments.

Manning strongly denied the claims to ESPN's Chris Mortensen: "The allegation that I would do something like that is complete garbage and is totally made up. It never happened. Never. I really can't believe somebody would put something like this on the air. Whoever said this is making stuff up."

He went on to say that, "Yes, I have been a patient under Dr. Guyer. I have had nutrient therapy, oxygen therapy and other treatments that are holistic in nature but never HGH. My wife (Ashley) has never provided any medication for me to take. Ashley and I never attended the clinic together after hours. There were times when I went in the morning and there were times when I went after practice so this thing about `after hours' is so misleading because it may have been 5:15 pm because their office closed at 5."

Chuck Pagano: They Can Fire You But Can't Eat You

Dec 15, 2015 1:18 PM

The job security of Chuck Pagano remains an issue as the Indianapolis Colts have suffered two straight blowout losses.

"They can't eat you," Pagano told reporters Monday. "They can fire you, but they can't eat you. So if the worst thing is a year from now, let's say I'm in Boise playing with my granddaughters, I'm going to be fine. That ain't going to happen, but I'm going to be fine if I go down that road."

The Colts are 6-7 heading into Sunday's AFC South showdown against the Houston Texans.

"We have a great opportunity, as bad as it may seem, with our record, the ups, the downs, the ebbs and flows, however you want to state it," Pagano said. "There won't be anybody outside this building at West 56th Street that will give us any chance. We've got a job to do. We've got a great opportunity.

"[The players] understand the circumstances. We all do. Playing at home, division rival, division game, division on the line. I don't know how you cannot get up for this contest."

Colts Unsure If Andrew Luck Will Play Again In 2015

Dec 14, 2015 3:59 PM

The Indianapolis Colts are unsure if Andrew Luck will play again in 2015 as he heals from a lacerated kidney.

Luck told reporters Monday that his goal is to practice this week but that he doesn't feel 100 percent yet. He said he will play again this season.

Doctors know that Luck cannot risk elevating his heart rate because it would pump more blood through his kidneys, delaying the healing process, according to medical sources.

Luck has been getting regular scans on his lacerated kidney, as often as every fourth day.

Colts Remain Uncertain When Andrew Luck Will Return

Dec 9, 2015 6:06 PM

The Indianapolis Colts remain unsure when Andrew Luck will be healthy enough to return to the lineup.

Luck has yet to practice after suffering a lacerated kidney on Nov. 8th.

The Colts initially said Luck would be back in 2-6 weeks.

“[H]e’s been throwing,” Chuck Pagano said of Luck. “[He] hasn’t participated in practice. He’s doing his rehab and most of his stuff is with the docs and trainers and then he’ll come out and watch part of practice. I saw him doing some gassers, which was a good sign, during a couple of the periods.”

Colts Not Entertaining Starting Hasselback Over Healthy Luck

Dec 1, 2015 8:10 PM

Matt Hasselbeck has played well for the Indianapolis Colts in the absence of Andrew Luck, but the job will revert back to Luck when he's healthy.

"That's ludicrous," Chuck Pagano said during Monday's news conference. "You gotta stay off Twitter."

Pagano added that Luck is the starter when healthy, though that prospect remains "week to week."
