Andrew Luck: I Can Make All The Throws

Sep 27, 2018 10:48 AM

Andrew Luck insists he isn't dealing with any physical limitations, including with his right shoulder, as the Indianapolis Colts prepare for their fourth game.

The Colts have featured a lot of shorter passes and Jacoby Brissett came in to throw a Hail Mary against the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday.

"I know I'm at a level where I can make all the throws, and I feel confident I'm going out there with my full arsenal. I don't think there's anything physically holding me back," Luck said. "The [deep passing game] can get better. It can definitely get better. We could probably look back and say if we had a couple more chunks in the first few games, maybe that would swing the tide in a way. But that's probably the truth of looking back at any game. Hindsight is 20-20. So we'll work on it. I'll work on it. Guys up front, too. Wide outs will make sure when those opportunities do present themselves, that we're making the plays."

Colts Replace Andrew Luck With Jacoby Brissett To Throw Hail Mary

Sep 24, 2018 11:35 AM

The Indianapolis Colts brought in Jacoby Brissett to throw a hail mary to end their Week 3 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Luck spent a full year rehabbing his shoulder.

"No. Jacoby has a stronger arm than I do," Luck said after the game when asked about the situation, per The Athletic's Stephen Holder. "It's sort of what I see in practice. And obviously coach Reich thinks that as well. I'll keep working on getting my arm to where maybe it can make an 80-yard throw from the minus-30 (yard line). But I have no qualms with that decision."

Luck was asked if his arm will ever be strong enough to throw a deep ball.

"I don't know. I was never in a situation to go out there and do it," Luck said. "In this situation, I don't know, I'll be honest. To run around and scramble and put my foot in the ground and try to (chuck) it X amount of yards."

Andrew Luck Suffered Snowboarding Injury After 2016 Season

Sep 9, 2018 10:12 AM

Andrew Luck hasn't played since the 2016 season because of issues with his throwing shoulder.

The Indianapolis Colts quarterback had surgery for a posterior labrum tear suffered on the football field, but he also injured himself in the winter of 2016 in a snowboarding accident in Colorado that left him with a sprained AC joint.

When it happened, Luck called the Colts immediately and was honest about it.

"I don't snowboard anymore," Luck said. "And this was after the initial injury. I went back, rehabbed it with the Colts. I've had a bunch of AC sprains, both left and right shoulder, and resolved that issue. But the labrum has been my issue, was my issue, what I worked through, what I got surgery on."

Luck does not believe the AC sprain affected his torn labrum. He was adamant it did not slow his rehab.

"I've seen more doctors than I can count on two hands over the past two or three years," Luck said, "and the consensus -- unanimous -- is that the AC is not an issue, nor did it have an effect. The labrum is an issue."

Andrew Luck Was Scared His Shoulder Would Never Heal

Sep 5, 2018 8:28 AM

Andrew Luck is preparing to play in a regular season game for the first time since the end of the 2016 season.

As Luck spent all of last year rehabbing from shoulder surgery, he feared he might never be able to play football again.

"I was scared, scared in my core, in my insides. There was a time I was very scared about football, and about my place in football," the quarterback said.

Luck admitted the toll the injury took on his mental well-being.

"I was a sad, miserable human," he said. "I was not nice to myself, nor was I nice to anyone else. I was a miserable SOB to be around. I was nervous. I was scared."
