Colts To Hire Josh McDaniels As Head Coach

The Indianapolis Colts will hire Josh McDaniels as head coach following Super Bowl LII.

McDaniels met with the Colts on Friday and the two sides discussed long-term visions.

Jim Irsay and Chris Ballard were in on the interview from the Colts.

McDaniels will replace Chuck Pagano.

This will mark McDaniels' second stint as a head coach. McDaniels led the Denver Broncos to an 11-17 record before being fired midway through the 2010 season.

McDaniels is also a strong candidate for the Tennessee Titans' job.

McDaniels has been close to accepting head coaching jobs in recent offseasons.

McDaniels is in his second stint as offensive coordinator of the Patriots.

McDaniels is also a candidate for the head coaching jobs with the Colts and Giants.

McDaniels was briefly a head coach with the Broncos between stops with the Patriots.

The Indianapolis Colts have narrowed their field of head coaching candidates to Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels.

The Colts could still add additional candidates at a later date depending on whether they receive a commitment from Vrabel or McDaniels.

McDaniels remains in the playoffs as offensive coordinator of the Patriots.

Vrabel is currently defensive coordinator of the Texans.
