Jets Agree To Trade Up From No. 6 To No. 3 With Colts

Mar 17, 2018 5:09 PM

The New York Jets have agreed to trade up from the No. 6 spot to the No. 3 spot with the Indianapolis Colts.

The Jets will send two second round picks (Nos. 37 and 49) along with their 2019 second round pick to the Colts.

Chris Ballard said the teams had been discussing a potential trade since early in the week.

"They had an interest to move up to (No.) 3 and kind of went back and forth for the last four or five days," Ballard said in a video posted on the Colts' website. "Talked to a couple other teams, but we still wanted to stay in position in that top 10 where we could still get a premium player. We feel like at (No.) 6, we'll still be able to get a premium player."

The Jets re-signed Josh McCown and signed Teddy Bridgewater in free agency.

Colts Won't Re-Sign Frank Gore

Mar 1, 2018 8:41 PM

The Indianapolis Colts won't bring back Frank Gore next season.

"I am aware that [general manager] Chris Ballard and Frank did have a discussion once the season was over," Frank Reich told reporters, "and out of respect to Frank, so he could know exactly what was going on, Chris was right up front and said that we probably would be moving on to make the roster a little bit younger at that position."

Gore signed a three-year, $12 million deal with the Colts in 2015.
