Broncos To Buy Back Portion Of Minority Stake In Team

Mar 22, 2018 9:19 AM

John Bowlen has agreed to sell a portion of his minority stake in the franchise back to the Denver Broncos.

He is the brother of majority owner Pat Bowlen.

The Broncos released the below statement:

"This transaction further consolidates Pat Bowlen's majority, controlling ownership interest in the Broncos while keeping 100 percent of the team in the Bowlen family. The acquisition of this share is independent of Mr. Bowlen's succession plan that is being administered by the Pat Bowlen Trust.

"John has been a great partner for many years, and we are very pleased he will remain a minority owner of the Denver Broncos."

The Broncos didn't announce how much of John Bowlen's stake they will purchase or how much they've agreed to pay for it.

Broncos Reportedly Never Made Offer To Kirk Cousins

Mar 20, 2018 7:08 PM

The Denver Broncos were in the market for a quarterback as free agency begin, but Peter King of Sports Illustrated reports that they never made an offer to Kirk Cousins.

Cousins eventually signed a fully-guaranteed deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

He had been linked to Denver, not only because of need, but also because a number of players made their own interest in Cousins public.

Ian Rapoport reports that when the Broncos realized Cousins' price tag, they pivoted to Case Keenum.

Rams Acquire Aqib Talib From Broncos

Mar 8, 2018 11:25 PM

The Denver Broncos have agreed to trade Aqib Talib to the Los Angeles Rams for a fifth round pick.

The Broncos also discussed a trade of Talib with the 49ers and Patriots.

"For Talib, there were really only two places he wanted to go," Rapoport revealed on Thursday's edition of NFL Total Access. "New England, where of course he had a lot of success with Bill Belichick and the Patriots. And Los then Angeles with the Rams, where he would get to play under Wade Phillips, his former defensive coordinator in Denver."

The Rams have also added Marcus Peters and Sam Shields at cornerback this offseason.

Broncos, Cardinals, Jets, Vikings Finalists For Kirk Cousins

Mar 3, 2018 10:07 AM

The Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings are expected to be the finalists to sign Kirk Cousins.

Last season, Cousins topped the 4,000-yard mark for the third straight season. He finished with 4,093 yards, 27 touchdowns and 13 interceptions -- and a total QBR of 52.3, his lowest as the full-time starter.

Cousins played the last two seasons for Washington on a franchise tag. Rather than negotiate a final time with Cousins, however, Washington traded for Alex Smith on Jan. 30, agreeing to a four-year extension with the veteran.

The Broncos and Vikings would likely give Cousins the best odds of competing for a spot in the playoffs.
