May 25, 2018 12:18 PM

The Denver Broncos had Sam Hinkie visit their facility on Thursday for a consultation.

Hinkie met with John Elway, along with the pro and college scouting staffs, spoke to Broncos director of football analytics Mitch Tanney and analyst Scott Flaska. He spent time with Mike Sullivan, the Broncos’ cap guru formally known as the director of football administration, and he met with the team’s athletic training staff and the strength and conditioning coach, Loren Landow.

Bills Tried To Trade Up To No. 4 For Josh Allen

May 6, 2018 10:48 AM

The Buffalo Bills attempted to trade up as high as No. 4 to ensure they could select Josh Allen.

“I probably talked to John Dorsey more than anybody through the process, but we could not come to an agreement on what was fair,” Brandon Beane told the Buffalo News.

Beane also had a deal in advance with John Elway that would have seen the Bills send the 12th overall pick, the 22nd overall pick and a second-round pick to Denver in exchange for the fifth overall pick. Elway, however, said he would only agree upon the trade if the player he sought wasn't available. The Broncos wanted to select Bradley Chubb, who fell to No. 4 and they used the pick.

Broncos Aren't Giving Up On Paxton Lynch

May 2, 2018 8:43 AM

John Elway says the Denver Broncos haven't given up on Paxton Lynch as a possible quarterback of the future.

Paxton failed to beat out Trevor Siemian for the starting job multiple times, but that doesn't mean the front office has lost faith in him.

"We are not kicking him to the curb," Elway said. "He can still develop. When we drafted him two years ago, as I said, we knew it was going to take some time."

The Broncos, however, have just one more year to decide whether to pick up the fifth-year option on Lynch's rookie contract.

Denver signed Case Keenum in free agency and have Chad Kelly as a possible No. 2.

"Paxton is going to compete with Chad for that backup spot," Elway said. "We are not going to bring another one in for OTAs. We will take a peek at that. It will be those two and Case."
