Georgia Freshman Doesn't Press Charges Against Moreno For Punch

Aug 6, 2014 4:03 AM

The victim in a bar-fight incident Saturday night has decided not to press charges against Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno, and the Athens-Clarke County Police Department has closed its investigation on the matter. "It was determined there was not enough for us to (show) probable cause to continue with the investigation and we have closed the investigation," said Hilda Sorrow, public information assistant for the Athens-Clarke County Police Department. Stephen Anderson, an 18-year-old University of Georgia freshman student, filed a report Monday claiming he was knocked unconscious Saturday night by Moreno during an altercation inside the Bourbon Street Bar in Athens. Anderson admitted to police he was drunk and had details of the fight told to him by friends. Anderson was treated at a local hospital for a concussion.

Oct 31, 2014 4:27 PM

A prosecutor said Darrent Williams was the innocent victim of a gang member angry because he was sprayed with champagne and feeling disrespected over being manhandled by Williams' teammate, current Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall. "In a world of Denver street gangs, in a world of Tre Tre Crips, if you are disrespected, you have a right to take an innocent life," prosecutor Bruce Levin told jurors during his opening statement. The argument began inside the club after Brandon Marshall's cousin Blair Clark sprayed champagne on a group of gang members.

Marshall Remains Haunted By Death Of Darrent Williams

One of the lingering reasons why wide receiver Brandon Marshall wants out of Denver is the fact that he remains haunted by the death of teammate Darrent Williams. In a report by the Denver Post, which references conversations with several friends of Marshall, the Jan. 1, 2007 death is a major reason why the Pro Bowl wide receiver wants to leave Denver. Marshall reportedly was in an altercation at a nightclub that could have led to the shooting, and he was with Williams shortly before he was killed in a driveby shooting.

Owner Wants Marshall To Stay In Denver

Sep 30, 2014 9:31 PM

Broncos owner Pat Bowlen and wide receiver Brandon Marshall are on the same page after a promising-turned-disappointing season in 2009. "I think Brandon is going through a maturing process," Bowlen told The Denver Post. "Personally, I saw change in his personality and approach to things [this season]. He didn't have the same sort of attitude and anxiety that he's had. I personally would like to see him stay. And there's still a good possibility that could happen." Marshall is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason and would become a restricted free agent if the owners and players' union don't strike a labor agreement by March 5.
