The Baltimore Ravens have finally agreed to a long-term deal with Lamar Jackson, according to sources.

The quarterback's new deal is for five years and $260 million and makes him the highest-paid player in NFL history -- surpassing the deal Jalen Hurts received last week.

Jackson will receive $185 million in guaranteed money.

OBJ: No Assurances Lamar Jackson Will Be Quarterback

Apr 14, 2023 12:28 PM

Odell Beckham, Jr. would love to play with Lamar Jackson but the wide receiver says the Baltimore Ravens gave him no assurances that Jackson would be his quarterback when he agreed to sign a contract.

"Lamar, if you're watching, I would love to get to work with you," Beckham said with a smile when he was introduced.

Jackson announced that he had requested a trade from the Ravens last month, and he later received the nonexclusive franchise tag from Baltimore.

"The goal was to come here and have that possibility to play with him," Beckham said.

GM: Ravens Could Pick QB In First Round

Apr 6, 2023 8:34 AM

The Baltimore Ravens declined to answer questions about Lamar Jackson, but they did address the quarterback position during Wednesday's pre-draft news conference.

Eric DeCosta acknowledged the possibility of the Ravens selecting a quarterback in the first round.

"It depends on the board, it really does," DeCosta said. "I mean, I'd have to say yes because we have quarterbacks in our top 31. So just based on that alone, simple math, I would have to say yes."

The Ravens currently hold the No. 22 pick.

Darius Slay Nearly Became A Raven Before Rejoining Eagles

Apr 3, 2023 9:14 AM

Darius Slay revealed on his podcast, "Big Play Slay," that he nearly joined the Baltimore Ravens this offseason.

There was a period of time in which it seemed as though the cornerback was going to leave the Philadelphia Eagles. He flirted with the Ravens before ultimately remaining with the Eagles.

"I was almost -- this close -- a Baltimore Raven. This close," said Slay, holding up two fingers close together. "But I wanted to be an Eagle. I stayed an Eagle because I know we were going to figure something out."

Slay, 32, was granted permission to seek a trade before the start of free agency, according to a report, and he was then expected to get released two weeks ago. But he was never cut and instead signed a three-year, $42 million deal with the Eagles.

"The Baltimore Ravens were the first team that called," Slay said. "They offered just what I wanted. I said, 'If the Eagles do that, I'm going to stay an Eagle.' It was nice now. I was almost a Raven."
