New England Patriots running back James White is expected to miss the rest of the season with a hip injury, according to sources.

White immediately rolled over and grabbed for his right hip after after a 6-yard gain in this past Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

"James is the quiet leader. Obviously not having a guy like that hurts as a team," Devin McCourty said. "He had gotten off to a great start, and you just hate to see the long road to recovery that comes with being injured, but he's one of the toughest people I've been around. I know he'll bounce back."

Entering Sunday's game, White led the Patriots with 12 receptions for 94 yards. He had 38 yards on 10 carries this season.

New York Giants linebacker Blake Martinez suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons, according to a report.

Martinez's injury happened in the first quarter on New York's first defensive possession of the game.

Martinez, 27, led the team in tackles (151) in his first season with New York after signing a free-agent deal before the 2020 season.

Christian McCaffrey is expected to miss multiple weeks though he is unlikely to be placed on injured reserve.

McCaffrey suffered a hamstring injury during the first half of the Carolina Panthers' Week 3 win over the Houston Texans.

Lamar Jackson didn't practice on Thursday because of an illness, but he should be good to go this weekend against the Detroit Lions.

This marks the fourth straight year in which Jackson has missed one practice because of an illness in his four-year NFL career. Jackson has never been sidelined for a game because of injury.

Jackson is 30-8 since taking over as the Baltimore Ravens' starting quarterback midway through the 2018 season.

Christian McCaffrey left Thursday night's game against the Houston Texans with a strained hamstring.

The injury soured a night in which the Carolina Panthers improved to 3-0 for just the fifth time in team history.

Matt Rhule said the team doesn't know the severity of McCaffrey's injury yet.

The Panthers also saw first-round pick Jaycee Horn suffer a broken right foot.

The winless Minnesota Vikings still plan to ride Dalvin Cook in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks despite a right ankle injury.

Mike Zimmer classified the injury as a "little sprain."

"You know, at this stage, it's time to get some wins," Zimmer said. "Dalvin's a tough guy. If he can't play, there's a reason why he's not playing. But he makes us go, so we're going to continue to play him."

Cook was injured with 9:52 remaining in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals when he was tackled low by J.J. Watt. The running back sported an Ace bandage on his right ankle during media availability Wednesday, and did not participate in practice.

Antonio Brown has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Brown, like every one of his teammates and all members of the Bucs' coaching staff, is fully vaccinated, and per NFL rules, needs two negative tests 24 hours apart to return, as long as he is asymptomatic.

Brown's 138 receiving yards through two games is second-most on the team this season.

Tua Tagovailoa has been ruled out for the Miami Dolphins' Week 3 game against the Las Vegas Raiders due to fractured ribs.

Jacoby Brissett will start against the Raiders, with practice squad quarterback Reid Sinnett backing him up.

"He's in good spirits. He's a tough kid," Brian Flores said of Tagovailoa. "He's doing everything he can ... he's getting better. He wants to be out there with his teammates, but this is the right move for him from a health standpoint."

Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that Ben Roethlisberger is dealing with a left pectoral injury.

"I don't know specifically when Ben got injured in game," Tomlin said. "I don't know that he does. You know, sometimes just in the midst of competition, adrenaline and so forth, you just don't know. Sometimes things just come up after."

Roethlisberger was sacked just twice, but hit 10 times in the Pittsburgh Steelers' loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

Denver Broncos linebacker Bradley Chubb will have arthroscopic surgery Wednesday to remove a bone spur.

Chubb left Sunday's 23-13 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a left ankle injury just before halftime.

The defender said Tuesday he felt a "stab type pain'' in the ankle on a pass rush. The fourth-year veteran will likely be moved to injured reserve with a recovery time expected to be about seven to eight weeks, if things go well.
