Aaron Rodgers Won't Have Toe Surgery During Bye Week

Nov 29, 2021 9:34 PM

Aaron Rodgers is expected to rest his fractured pinkie toe during the Green Bay Packers' bye week instead of having surgery.

Matt LaFleur said Monday that Rodgers is "gathering other opinions, so we'll see where that goes," but a source said those opinions are not expected to lead to surgery during the bye.

The Packers won't play until Dec. 13 against the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football.

NFL Network reported earlier on Monday that Rodgers does not plan to have surgery.

Nov 30, 2021 2:05 PM

Dalvin Cook suffered a dislocated shoulder on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, according to a source.

The Minnesota Vikings expect Cook to miss at least the next two games, with the hope that he can return for the Dec. 20 game against the Chicago Bears, the source said.

Mike Zimmer wouldn't disclose the nature of Cook's injury on Monday, only saying the running back is "day-to-day."

Dalvin Cook Carted Off, To Have MRI On Shoulder

Nov 29, 2021 8:48 AM

Dalvin Cook was carted off the field late in the third quarter after suffering a shoulder injury. He was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's Minnesota Vikings-San Francisco 49ers game.

Mike Zimmer did not have an update on Cook's condition following the Vikings' 34-26 loss but said the running back would undergo an MRI on Monday.

Cook was injured after being brought down by Kevin Givens following a handoff. He lost the ball in the process of being tackled and immediately grabbed for his chest with his right arm when he hit the ground.

Ezekiel Elliott: Cowboys Haven't Asked Me To Sit Against Saints

Nov 29, 2021 10:58 AM

Ezekiel Elliott is dealing with a bruised right knee, but doesn't want to take any time off.

After Thursday's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, Mike McCarthy expressed concern for Elliott's health after the running back had just 25 yards on nine carries.

A source said the Cowboys will consider providing Elliott time off to heal, including the possibility of holding him out of Thursday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

"No one's came to me and asked me to rest," Elliott said.

If they do, Elliott said he would listen.

"I've just got to go with what they believe is best for the team," he said.

Aaron Rodgers Clarifies Toe Fractured To Clear Up 'COVID Toe' Story

Nov 25, 2021 8:15 AM

Aaron Rodgers clarified that he has a fractured pinkie toe and not "COVID toe."

Rodgers revealed Wednesday that he has a fractured toe, one he suffered during workouts at home while preparing to return to the Packers for their Nov. 14 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Rodgers joked about "COVID toe" during a podcast appearance this week, which the Wall Street Journal took as fact.

"I'm glad you asked just so I could show you the lesions of my foot here, so if I have enough room on this camera, let me see if I can," Rodgers said as he lifted his left foot in front of the camera during his Zoom news conference. "Oh, oh there's no lesions whatsoever. Oh, what a surprise. No, that's actually called disinformation when you perpetuate false information about an individual. I have a fractured toe."

Lions' Jared Goff Trending Toward Thanksgiving Return

Nov 24, 2021 7:16 AM

Jared Goff is "leaning" toward a return to the Detroit Lions for Thursday's game against the Chicago Bears, according to Dan Campbell.

Goff missed Sunday's 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns with an oblique injury.

"I would say there's a 60% chance of it being 50-50," Campbell said jokingly.

Tim Boyle started in Goff's place against the Browns. In his first NFL start, Boyle had 77 passing yards with two interceptions, completing 15 of 23 passes for a 34.1 passer rating.

The Saints drafted Trautman in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Dayton.

Initial Tests Show Justin Fields' Ribs Not Broken

Nov 22, 2021 9:04 AM

Justin Fields left Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens with an injury to his ribs.

Initial tests did not reveal any broken ribs, but the rookie quarterback will undergo more tests on Monday, according to a source.

Andy Dalton replaced Fields and quickly threw a 60-yard touchdown to Darnell Mooney.

The Bears don't have much time to assess Fields with a game against the Detroit Lions coming on Thanksgiving.
