Dak Prescott 'Pretty Much Full Go' At OTAs

May 26, 2021 8:44 AM

Dak Prescott has been participating in organized team activities with the Dallas Cowboys.

"It felt great," said Prescott, who is working his way back from a dislocated and compound fracture of his right ankle.

"After long months of recovery and just rehab, the main goal is to just getting back out there with my teammates, getting back on the field, running a huddle, building that camaraderie on the field. It's just exciting yesterday and carrying over today, but so much we can build with the team and me personally. I'm just excited to know the game is back and I'm able to be a part of it."

Prescott went through everything except the full 11-on-11 drills and the end-of-practice walkthrough Tuesday.

49ers Expect Nick Bosa To Be Ready For Training Camp

May 26, 2021 8:41 AM

Nick Bosa was not in attendance at the San Francisco 49ers' voluntary practice session on Tuesday, but the team expects the defensive end to be ready when training camp opens on July 31.

Bosa tore his left ACL on Sept. 20, 2020.

"Nick's in Florida," Kyle Shanahan said. "I've been talking to Nick since February on this. He came out in February for a while to get checked up on his knee and stuff. With him coming off the ACL and everything, it's going great. ... He's got a good setup out there with his brother and the guy who works with his knee. They're in contact with our guys all the time and just didn't want to take him off his routine right now. I totally agree with him out there. He's going to show up at some time during this, but he won't be going out there doing anything coming off the ACL, but we fully expect him to be ready for training camp."

Matthew Stafford's Thumb Not Impeding Offseason Workouts

May 25, 2021 8:47 AM

Matthew Stafford says his offseason thumb surgery isn't an impediment to anything he wants to do in his first offseason workouts with the Los Angeles Rams.

After the NFL missed out on most offseason team work last spring due to the coronavirus pandemic, Stafford is grateful he picked this year to switch teams.

"Selfishly, I'm liking these times," Stafford said. "It's giving me the chance to be on the field and calling plays and going against our defense a little bit. Just above-the-neck stuff, being able to work the mental aspect of the game. So that part of it has been great for me. ... I feel like everybody is figuring out what works best for them as an organization, and I feel like we've accomplished that."

Stafford played through a torn ligament in his right thumb for the second half of last season with the Detroit Lions. He also injured his ribs, his left knee and his right ankle, yet still started all 16 games for the ninth time in 10 years.

He described his thumb surgery as "a little quick fix. I feel way better. I haven't really been limited at all since we've been together."

Knee Injury Has Kept Antonio Brown From Signing New Deal With Bucs

May 20, 2021 8:21 AM

Antonio Brown's agent told reporters almost a month ago that his client agreed to terms on a new deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On Tuesday, Bruce Arians said Brown's signing has been delayed by the fact that the wide receiver has a knee injury that requires surgery.

"He has to pass the physical," Arians said. "Hopefully we'll have a scope on Tuesday, he's getting his knee cleaned out, and everything will work out fine. It's just a matter of a physical."

Joe Burrow 'On Track For Full Go' For Week 1

May 19, 2021 7:36 AM

Joe Burrow, who underwent reconstructive left knee surgery in December, is "all systems go" for the Sept. 12 regular-season opener, according to Dr. Neal ElAttrache of Kerlan-Jobe in Los Angeles.

"He's on track for full go for start of the season," ElAttrache, who operated on Burrow in December, said. "He's doing all the work. He's worked his tail off and been an amazingly mature participant in his recovery. He's focused and great to work with."

Burrow had told "The Cris Collinsworth Podcast" that he expected to be there for the first snap in 2021.
