Andre Johnson To Have Ankle Surgery
The Texans won't have Andre Johnson against the Jaguars on Sunday. Johnson will have arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle next week. He sprained the ankle in Week 2 and the injury has never healed. "The biggest thing was just being smart about the situation," Johnson said. "The best thing they felt was for me not to be out there to have something else bad happen, or me to re-injure the ankle, like I've been doing the whole season."
Jaguars Rule Jones-Drew Out Again
Maurice Jones-Drew missed Friday's practice and has been ruled out of Jacksonville's crucial game against Houston on Sunday. Jones-Drew last week missed his first start because of a knee injury that hasn't gotten any better. Rashad Jennings will be the starter as the Jags try to win the AFC South title on the last day of the regular season. The Jaguars need to win and see the Colts lose to the Titans.
Colston Has Knee Scoped, Questionable
Marques Colston had an arthroscopic procedure on his knee Tuesday and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. He played in the Saints' victory over the Falcons this past Monday night. Sean Payton says Colston emerged from the game with soreness and characterized the procedure as a "clean up" and relatively minor. Colston has 84 receptions for 1,023 yards and seven touchdowns.

Brett Favre still hasn't passed his concussion test and his status for Minnesota's season finale remains in doubt. Favre hasn't been able to play in two of the team's last three games. "We'd love to see him play," interim coach Leslie Frazier said. "There's no question about that." Friday will likely be the cutoff date for Favre if he isn't able to pass the required tests.
Eagles Unsure If Vick Will Face Cowboys
The Eagles aren't sure if Michael Vick's bruised leg will keep him out of their season finale against the Cowboys. Garrard Will Miss Jaguars' Important Finale
The Jaguars will not have quarterback David Garrard in Sunday's important season finale against the Texans. Garrard will have surgery on the middle finger of his right hand Thursday. Trent Edwards is expected to start in his place. Jacksonville needs to beat Houston and have Tennessee upset Indianapolis to win the AFC South. Garrard likely would miss a first-round playoff game if the Jaguars (8-7) make the postseason.
MRI Reveals No Damage To Bush's Collarbone
An MRI on the collarbone of Reggie Bush has revealed no damage, according to a source close to the Saints. Bush sustained a sprained sternoclavicular joint during Monday night's 17-14 victory at Atlanta, but he isn't expected to miss any time.
Source: Favre Likely Out Against Eagles
Brett Favre isn't expected to start on Tuesday night when the Vikings take on the Eagles in Philadelphia. Favre has not passed a concussion test and a team official told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio on Monday no test is planned before the game. Rookie Joe Webb is expected to start for Minnesota.
Hayes Suffers Concussion On Collins' Errant Throw
Titans defensive end William Haynes suffered a concussion in Sunday's 34-14 loss to the Chiefs when he was hit in the head by an errant pass from teammate Kerry Collins. Collins floated a pass out of bounds, hitting Hayes along the sideline. "That's kind of how the game went," coach Jeff Fisher said Sunday. "I've never had a player leave the game with a concussion after getting hit with the ball on the sideline. But we'll see how he is this week."
Tolbert Leaves Game On Stretcher
Chargers running back Mike Tolbert was taken off the field on a stretcher Sunday during the team's disappointing loss to the Bengals. Tolbert took a handoff, put his head down and ran into safety Reggie Nelson's chest in the first quarter on Sunday. He fumbled and remained face-down on the field, motionless, when the play ended. Doctors carefully rolled him over onto a backboard, strapped him down and wheeled him off the field. Tolbert raised his right forearm and gave a thumbs-up to the crowd cheering him.
