Valero would likely be seeking the same position with Seattle because Pete Carroll already has hired veteran offensive line coach Alex Gibbs.
Valero has coached the past two seasons with the Rams.
New Seattle GM Won't Take Any Packers Scouts Until After Draft
John Schneider, a Packers director of football operations the last two years, said after his introductory press conference as the Seahawks' new general manager that he won't make any changes to the scouting or personnel staff.
Schneider has worked with several members of Seattle's scouting staff, including when he was with the Seahawks in 2000.
"Why would you change?? Schneider said after the news conference. ?Look who?s already here. These are some great people who do a great job.?
If Schneider brings in any scouts from outside the organization, it probably wouldn't happen until after the NFL draft in late April.
Seahawks Hire Schneider As GM

Report: Dungy Would Have Hired Frazier In Seattle
If Tony Dungy accepted Seattle's offer to run their football operations, he would have named Leslie Frazier the team's head coach.

According to Casserly, Dungy officially rejected Seattle's offer last Sunday.
Colts Let Seattle Off The Hook On Dungy Tampering
The Seattle Seahawks reached out to Tony Dungy earlier this week to fill their vacant president's position.
Although Dungy retired Jan. 12, 2009, after seven seasons as the Colts coach, his contract doesn't expire until next month and therefore Seattle could have faced tampering charges.
The Colts will not file tampering charges with the NFL, according to a high-ranking team official who requested his name not be used.
The team, the source said, has the Seahawks "dead in the water for tampering for offering Tony the president's job. It's clear tampering."
Seattle chief executive Tod Leiweke told reporters he offered the team president job to Dungy, who considered it before declining.
Floyd Reese Likely To Become Seattle GM
Floyd Reese is the favorite to land the GM job for Seattle. Reese is the former GM of the Titans.
Reese already has had contact with Seahawks owner Paul Allen, according to a source. Reese has worked with new coach Pete Carroll in the past and has deep roots with him. The other candidates believe Reese will get the job.
The Seahawks have completed the interview process, of which Carroll was a key part. The other finalists ? Omar Khan, Marc Ross and John Schneider ? are younger and haven?t previously served as GMs.
Seattle Could Have Co-Defensive Coordinators
The Redskins have granted permission for secondary coach Jerry Gray to interview for the Seahawks? defensive coordinator job, according to league sources, and a meeting could take place as soon as Thursday.
Gray, who interviewed for Washington?s head coach and defensive coordinator jobs, is highly respected around the NFL. He was a finalist for the Texans? defensive coordinator position last year, but the Redskins blocked him from interviewing.
Gray has ties to Seahawks general manager candidate Floyd Reese from their time together in the Titans? organization. Gray also has ties to the Seahawks? new offensive coordinator, Jeremy Bates, from his Titans days.
League sources said the Seahawks? current defensive line coach, Dan Quinn, also is a favorite for the position, so there could be a co-coordinator situation in Seattle.
Carroll Could Try To Acquire Leinart
There is some sentiment that Pete Carroll could go in another direction away from Matt Hasselbeck and make a play for former USC quarterback Matt Leinart.
Leinart has been outplayed by Kurt Warner in Arizona, but the current starter is hinting at retirement, which would leave Leinart with the starting QB job.
