49ers Nolan Defends His Decision To Kick FG

Oct 27, 2014 3:28 PM

Although coach Mike Nolan isn't too happy with a few calls that have gone against the 49ers recently, he stands by the call he made near the conclusion of their loss to the Rams. Nolan still believes he made the correct decision to kick a field goal on a fourth-and-inches from the St. Louis 6 with less than 4 minutes left, putting San Francisco ahead by four points Sunday. The Rams drove for a touchdown in their 20-17 victory, snapping the Niners' three-game winning streak and dealing a blow to their unlikely playoff hopes.

Oct 27, 2014 3:40 PM

One day after team announced it was done negotiating with Newsom and was now committed "100 percent" to moving to Santa Clara, team owner John York reopened the door ever so slightly by saying he would listen to any new ideas from San Francisco. But York reiterated that the team was still sitting down with Santa Clara officials. York and Newsom met Friday morning at the prompting of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a San Francisco resident and former mayor who also attended the meeting.
