The 49ers likely are off the list of possible suitors for Dolphins running back Ricky Williams. San Francisco coach Mike Nolan, head coach for the South team at the Senior Bowl, said Thursday he didn't think his team would be particularly interested. ''Look, if the price is right, I'd have to say that I'm interested in everybody,'' Nolan said. ``But we're pretty strong at running back.'' The 49ers have Kevan Barlow and former University of Miami standout Frank Gore as their top two running backs.

Although the San Francisco 49ers still haven't decided whether they will hire a team president before next season, coach Mike Nolan has spoken with at least two veteran NFL executives about the job. Nolan discussed the potential opening with Seattle Seahawks vice president Mike Reinfeldt and Atlanta Falcons executive vice president Ray Anderson in recent weeks, the coach said Wednesday in a phone interview from Mobile, Ala., where his staff is coaching in the Senior Bowl. The 49ers have been under public pressure to hire a veteran football administrator for one of the NFL's thinnest front offices, where all football decisions are made by Nolan and vice president Scot McCloughan.

Norv Turner, fired as coach of the Oakland Raiders two weeks ago, moved across San Francisco Bay to become the 49ers' offensive coordinator on Tuesday. Coach Mike Nolan hired his former boss with the Washington Redskins to replace Mike McCarthy, named the Green Bay Packers' head coach last week after one terrible season with the Niners. Turner, who also coached the Redskins for nearly seven years, was fired by the Raiders after just two losing seasons. But the Bay Area native still is considered one of the NFL's top offensive minds, with a career highlighted by his work as the Dallas Cowboys' offensive coordinator during two Super Bowl-winning seasons.
