Eli Manning Looking Forward To Making Playoffs Again

Jun 28, 2016 8:20 PM

The New York Giants haven't made the postseason the past four years, but Eli Manning sees the drought ending this season.

The Giants made a number of changes this offseason, including the departure of Tom Coughlin and promoting of Ben McAdoo as coach.

"I'm excited about this year with the Giants, I'm excited about Coach (Ben) McAdoo and staying in that same offense," Manning said. "I'm looking forward to getting back to making playoffs and getting back to what we're expected to do."

The Giants increased their scoring average in each of McAdoo's first two seasons as offensive coordinator.

"We expect to score the ball more. We think we can score over 28 points a game," Manning said. "We were close to hitting that last year. I think being my third year in the offense, getting some new weapons like Sterling (Shepard), getting Victor Cruz back, getting Larry Donnell back healthy. .... We do have a lot of weapons."

Ravens Release Eugene Monroe

Jun 16, 2016 12:22 PM

The Baltimore Ravens have released Eugene Monroe.

The Ravens were attempting to find a trade of Monroe but were unable to get a deal done with the New York Giants.

Both the Giants and Seattle Seahawks could use depth at offensive tackle.

The move also helps Baltimore's cap situation, creating $6.5 million in space.

Monroe has advocated for the NFL to remove medicinal marijuana from their list of banned substances.

Jason Pierre-Paul Won't Spend Fourth Of July In United States

Jun 6, 2016 4:13 PM

After suffering serious injuries in a grisly fireworks accident last July 4, Jason Pierre-Paul says he won't be spending the holiday in the United States this summer.

The incident cost the New York Giants defender part of his right hand and any chance at a lucrative long-term deal with the team.

"I won't even be in the United States. Where I'm going, they don't celebrate 4th of July," he told reporters.

Carlos Dunlap Wants To Break Michael Strahan's Sack Record

Jun 3, 2016 5:26 PM

Carlos Dunlap has set a lofty goal for the 2016 season -- he wants to break Michael Strahan's single-season sack record of 22.5.

Strahan set the record back in 2001.

"It's hard to get (20 or more)," Dunlap said. "Most of the guys who get those 20 sacks, they're like the only one (on their team) at plus-10. When you've got three guys who can get 10 sacks and a nose tackle who can get five, it's spreading the wealth. So that's good for our team."

Last season, J.J. Watt led the NFL with 17.5 sacks, one year after Justin Houston finished with 20.
