Victor Cruz agreed to a restructuring of his contract to remain with the New York Giants.

Cruz was entering the fourth year of a six-year, $45.879 million extension and was expected to make $7.9 million in 2016.

Cruz tore his patellar tendon back in 2014 -- a devastating injury that can derail a career on its own. In 2015, a promising spring and summer were halted by calf issues. 

Janoris Jenkins has agreed to a five-year, $62.5 million deal with the New York Giants.

Jenkins, 27, had his most consistent season in 2015 for the St. Louis Rams, finishing with 64 tackles, three interceptions and a forced fumble in 15 games.

The Rams used a second-round pick on Jenkins in the 2012 NFL draft and immediately plugged him in as a starter. He started 60 games in his four years with the team.

The New York Giants made two expensive signings for their defensive line during the start of free agency.

Olivier Vernon agreed to a five-year, $85 million deal with the Giants. 

Vernon received the Dolphins' transition tag March 1. The one-year transition tag for a defensive end is worth $12.734 million, according to the NFL Players Association. With the tag, other teams could negotiate with Vernon, but the Dolphins had the right to match any offers.

Damon Harrison joins the Giants from the New York Jets.

Jason Pierre-Paul and the New York Giants have agreed upon a one-year, $10.5 million deal.

The Arizona Cardinals made a late push to sign Pierre-Paul.

Pierre-Paul badly injured his hand last July 4th and was limited upon his return.

The New York Giants have told Victor Cruz he must accept a reworked contract to stay with the franchise.

The Giants are in negotiations with agent Tom Condon regarding Cruz.

The Giants and Cruz consider this a priority and are working toward a resolution. 

Cruz, who turns 30 during the 2016 season, is scheduled to make $7.9 million in 2016 with a cap hit of $9.9 million. 

Tom Coughlin's interview with the Philadelphia Eagles was described as a "disaster" as he spent a good portion of the time complaining about the New York Giants.

“NFL sources say his hard feelings for the Giants came through loud and clear in the interview with the Eagles brain trust, which included owner Jeffrey Lurie, and he was obsessed with how he felt wronged by the Giants. He was not forthcoming about his plans for his staff. He came off more concerned with making the Giants look bad than being consumed with coaching the Eagles,” Gary Myers writes.

Coughlin still uses the Giants' facility to work out, which comes across as looking over the shoulder of Ben McAdoo.
