Yannick Ngakoue Agrees To Pay Cut With Vikings

Aug 31, 2020 9:07 AM

As part of his trade to the Minnesota Vikings, Yannick Ngakoue has agreed to a pay cut.

Minnesota acquired Ngakoue from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 2021 second-round draft pick and a conditional 2022 fifth-round draft pick that could go as high as a third-round pick, according to sources.

Ngakoue has agreed to a one-year, $12 million deal with the Vikings -- instead of his franchise tender of $17.8 million.

Vikings Acquire Yannick Ngakoue From Jaguars

Aug 30, 2020 2:34 PM

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to acquire Yannick Ngakoue from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 2021 second round pick and a conditional 2022 fifth round pick that could go as high as a third round pick.

Ngakoue still has to sign his franchise tender, but the trade is now in place and he is expected to join the Vikings.

Ngakoue, 25, and the Jaguars will have to coordinate when he is going to sign his franchise tender Sunday so he can be traded to the Vikings. Because Ngakoue did not sign the tender before the July 15 deadline, he must play this season under the tag, valued at $17.8 million, before he can sign a long-term deal.

NFL's 32 Teams Collectively Worth $99 Billion

Aug 26, 2020 1:29 PM

The average NFL franchise is worth more than $3 billion, according to data compiled by Sportico.

The Dallas Cowboys rank first in the NFL at $6.43 billion with the Cincinnati Bengals ranking last at $2.12 billion.

The fair-market value of the NFL's 32 franchises collectively is $99 billion when considering team-related businesses and real estate held by owners.

The teams’ $15.83 billion in revenue in the last fiscal year, which represents the 2019 season, was greater than that of 298 companies on the Fortune 500. That averages to about $495 million per team.

In 2019, the Cowboys generated an estimated $871 million in revenue, which was 81% greater than the average of the other 31 teams.

Stefon Diggs Denies Forcing Trade From Vikings

Aug 5, 2020 11:03 PM

Stefon Diggs denied forcing his way off the Minnesota Vikings.

"As far as my past with Minnesota, I never actually said anything," he said Wednesday. "But, to this new situation, I'm excited. There is no right or wrong or problems to be fixed from my old situation. I have a lot of respect for the Minnesota Vikings. At that time, a trade happened -- you've kind of got to look at it for what it is. But I never really was vocal about what I did or didn't like (in Minnesota)."

Shortly after the Vikings signed quarterback Kirk Cousins to an extension in March, Diggs tweeted "it's time for a new beginning."
