Peterson's Splits More Favorable In Vikings' Losses

Oct 31, 2014 7:24 PM

Adrian Peterson has had a historical season by any measure.

But Peterson's best games haven't necessarily come in wins for the Minnesota Vikigns.

In Minnesota’s wins, Peterson has 210 carries for 1,136 yards, a 5.41 yards per carry average; in Minnesota’s losses, Peterson has 104 carries and an outstanding 7.4 YPC average.

Among the 23 running backs with at least 50 carries in both wins and losses this year, that’s the most drastic split in the NFL.

Ponder is trying to help the Vikings reach the playoffs.

Ponder has received criticism for the timing of the relationship given his struggles.

Peterson Guarantees 2k Yards, Eyes Eric Dickerson

Oct 31, 2014 11:31 AM

Adrian Peterson needs 400 yards over the final three weeks of the season to hit 2,000 yards, something he believes is easily achievable.

"Without a doubt," said Peterson. "It'll happen. Two thousand, that's easy. I'm eying Eric.''

Eric Dickerson holds the NFL record for most rushing yards in a season with 2,105, which was set in 1984.

Peterson has 210 yards and 154 yards in the past two weeks and feels like he is close to being back from knee surgery.

"I feel like I'm there, but there's more to come,'' Peterson said. "I'm not surprised at all. In fact, this is what I envisioned. When I was running hills in the offseason, running the gassers, I planned to come back stronger than ever, and I was convinced I could."

Vikings Searching For Receiver With Harvin Done For 2012

Dec 4, 2014 6:07 AM

Percy Harvin's 2012 season is over with the Minnesota Vikings' decision to place him on injured reserve.

"It certainly is disappointing that I was not able to finish out this season with my teammates. As a competitor I definitely wanted to get back out on the field but my injury has just not allowed me to progress to the point where I can help our team," he said.

"I appreciate the efforts of our medical staff and the support of our fans in helping me through this process and look forward to coming back stronger and better than ever."

The Vikings are searching for a receiver, according to a source.

"We are searching to see what is out there. Our scouts are putting together a list of what is out there. We are going to talk about it today," the source said.

The source was asked if they may consider signing Chad Johnson or Terrell Owens.

"We'd have to think about that. Each one of those guys have some baggage."

Jared Allen Has Been Playing With Torn Labrum

Aug 17, 2014 5:26 PM

Jared Allen has been playing with a torn labrum in his shoulder during the entire season.

"It is a tear that required surgery," Glazer said. "He knew about it going into the season. They told him if you have the surgery you are going to miss this year. He decided to hold off and have it after the season. But that shoulder has been bad all season long. Hasn't missed practice, but it's just kind of hanging on there. That's one of the reasons he's down from 22 sacks all the way down to seven right now."
