Mike Zimmer has questioned the playcall from the Minnesota Vikings that resulted in a game-ending fumble by Teddy Bridgewater.
With 13 seconds left and no timeouts, the Vikings opted to call one more play to get kicker Blair Walsh closer than the 48-yard kick he could have attempted at the time.
"You know, it's a play we practice every week for a situation like that," Zimmer said. "They had more people rushing in that particular play than normally when that happens. So, that was a little bit different. So, then we got beat. In retrospect, we probably could have called something else or kicked the field goal or whatever."
Mike Zimmer admitted it was a mistake for the Minnesota Vikings to only give Adrian Peterson eight carries in their loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
After the game, Peterson said the Vikings' coaching staff were "outcoached."
"I don't really worry about other people's opinions," Zimmer said, via the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "I just worry about what I think."
Zimmer was asked if Peterson should have received more carries.
"Probably should," Zimmer said.
Adrian Peterson only carried the ball eight times for 18 yards in the Minnesota Vikings' blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Peterson said the Vikings were outcoached "in so many different ways" Sunday, and when asked if he thought eight carries were too few for him, Peterson said, "What do you think?"
"As one of the leaders on the team, seeing how the running game has been all season, you definitely want to be able to go out and establish the run and let things feed off of that," he said. "To finish with eight carries, it's tough. I feel like we're able to sit back, evaluate some things again and get back to what we do."
Peterson met with Mike Zimmer after the game to share his concerns.
