The Rams extended Cooper Kupp last week.
Sean McVay believed he's likely responsible for the memo sent Monday by the NFL to reinforce that coaches must wear face coverings at all times on the sidelines during games and threatening discipline for those who don't comply.
"I figured that memo was directed at me," McVay said.
During Sunday night's game between the Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys, McVay roamed the sideline with his mask mostly worn under his chin, a clear violation of the league's coronavirus safety protocol.
"I've been getting blasted all day about it, so I just love it," McVay said, a bit tongue-in-cheek, before continuing in a more serious tone. "I will do better."
Cooper Kupp and the Los Angeles Rams have agreed to a three-year extension.
"I'd love to be a Ram long term," Kupp said earlier this week. "I love it here. I love my teammates, I love the coaches."
A third-round pick from Eastern Washington in 2017, Kupp was scheduled to earn $2.1 million in the final season of his rookie deal.
Cooper Kupp is heading into the final year of his rookie deal and the Los Angeles Rams are working to get him a new contract.
Sean McVay says "it is the hope" that a new deal will be reached before the Rams host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
Kupp had 94 receptions for 1,161 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2019.
Jalen Ramsey and the Los Angeles Rams have agreed to a five-year, $105 million contract extension, which is the largest in NFL history for a cornerback.
Ramsey will average $21 million per season.
Ramsey also receives $71.2 million in guaranteed money at signing.
Ramsey has been a Pro Bowler every season since 2017.
The San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints are the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
The 49ers' odds are at +500 while the Saints are at +550. The implied odds of the 49ers winning the conference are at 16.7 percent.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+600), Dallas Cowboys (+650) and Seattle Seahawks (+750) round out the top-5.
Washington has the longest odds at +10,000.
The Los Angeles Rams plan to use a three-headed attack at running back against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Sean McVay is confident Darrell Henderson will be ready to play after dealing with a hamstring injury. The Rams also have rookie Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown at the position.
"If he is (healthy), that's a three-back rotation that you feel really good about," McVay said. "Exactly how those carries will be distributed is something we'll determine really as the week progresses and as the game unfolds."
A day after Leonard Fournette was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Sean McVay denied the Los Angeles Rams' potential interest in the running back.
"He's a good player, but we feel good about the guys we have in-house," McVay said. "We're not looking at anybody externally. I've been very pleased with our backs."
After parting ways with Todd Gurley, the Rams will enter the season with Darrell Henderson, Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown at running back.
