Rams' QB Coach Weinke Compares Sam Bradford To Luck

Feb 27, 2015 11:55 AM

Chris Weinke was hired this season as quarterbacks coach of the St. Louis Rams and he's bullish on Sam Bradford.

When Andrew Luck was coming out of college, Weinke said the closest comparison was to Bradford.

"And I say that without knowing Sam. I'd never met Sam until this process. Looking at his physical skill set. And then obviously talking to people and understanding his mental capacity and his football IQ, and all those different things.

"Sam by far has had the best pro day out of any guy I've ever evaluated from a physical standpoint. And he was coming off an injury at that point in time. So when you look at a guy who's a pure passer of the football from a physical standpoint, he's as good as anybody I've ever evaluated."

Rams Haven't Received Any Trade Interest In Sam Bradford

Feb 25, 2015 3:07 PM

The St. Louis Rams haven't received any trade calls about the availability of Sam Bradford.

Because Bradford has missed the majority of the past two seasons and will have to compete to keep his starting job, the Rams have pressured him to accept a reduction in his $13 million salary that counts $16.6 million against the salary cap in the contract's final year.

Bradford has not been interested in that request and his agent was allowed to contract other teams to gauge his value.

The Rams are seeking a second round pick for Bradford, who would be a one-year rental.

Inglewood Approves Plans For Rams' Stadium

Feb 25, 2015 11:08 AM

The Inglewood City Council late Tuesday night approved plans to build a football stadium that includes St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke as a partner, clearing a path for a return to the Los Angeles area of the NFL for the first time in two decades.

The council approved the $2 billion plan with a 5-0 vote after a meeting with several hours of public comment.

It adds the 80,000 seat, 60-acre stadium to an existing 2009 plan to redevelop the former Hollywood Park racetrack site with homes, offices, stores, parks and open space and a hotel.

New urgency for Inglewood came to the issue last week with the announcement that the Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers are planning a shared stadium in suburban Carson if they don't get their current hometowns to cough up enough money to replace their aging stadiums. Another stadium plan remains alive for downtown Los Angeles, but has no team attached.

Rams Plan On Keeping Sam Bradford As Starter In 2015

Feb 16, 2015 10:50 AM

Sam Bradford will remain the starting quarterback of the St. Louis Rams in 2015.

"That's correct, yes," Fisher said. "He's been in the building since the season ended. He's doing well."

Bradford was out for the entire 2014 season due to another ACL injury.

The Rams still hope to restructure the 27-year-old's contract entering its final season -- he's set to make $12.985 million.

Rams Trying To Restructure Sam Bradford's Contract

Feb 9, 2015 11:30 AM

The St. Louis Rams would like to restructure the contract of Sam Bradford.

Bradford is scheduled to make $12.985 million in the final season of his rookie contract.

Bradford tore his ACL for the second time last year, missing all of the 2014 season. He's missed 25 of the past 32 games and 31 total over his five-year career.

The Rams could cut Bradford outright saving $12.985 million against the cap.
