Rams Expected To Pick Quarterback In Draft

Mar 28, 2015 2:19 PM

The St. Louis Rams may see Nick Foles as a temporary solution at quarterback as they intend to draft one.

"It's our intention to draft one," Jeff Fisher said this week at the NFL Annual Meeting, per Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "The Nick trade has no bearing over what we do in the draft."

Both Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota are likely to be off the board when the Rams pick at No. 10.

The Cleveland Browns reportedly offered a first round pick for Sam Bradford.

It is unclear if the Browns made the offer when Bradford was property of the St. Louis Rams or Philadelphia Eagles or both.

Both Jeff Fisher and Chip Kelly claimed to have received first round offers for Bradford.

The Browns aren't counting on Johnny Manziel being a factor this season.

Eagles Trade Nick Foles To Rams For Sam Bradford

Mar 11, 2015 11:28 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles are close to agreement on a trade of Nick Foles to the St. Louis Rams for Sam Bradford. The Eagles also gave up a fourth rounder in 2015 and a second rounder in 2016 while getting a fifth rounder in 2015 back from the Rams. The second round pick will be kept by the Eagles if Bradford isn't their starter.

Bradford and Foles have each struggled to remain healthy in their NFL careers.

Foles had an 81.4 passer rating in eight games last season with the Eagles.

Bradford missed the entire 2014 season with a torn ACL.

AEG Abandons Pursuit Of Downtown Los Angeles Stadium

Mar 9, 2015 8:49 PM

AEG has decided to abandon their plans to build a football stadium in downtown Los Angeles.

AEG invested at least $50 million and five years in their efforts to build a stadium.

“I think it’s fair to say we have turned our attention to proceeding with an alternative development,” AEG Vice Chairman Ted Fikre said.

The St. Louis Rams are seeking a stadium in Inglewood, while the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers are working on a proposal in Carson.

Eric Grubman, NFL executive vice president and point man for the league on L.A., said the league has been "very interested" in the downtown site and has spent significant time with senior members of AEG. “We would always prefer to have an excellent site in the mix, but we recognize that it is not in our control.”
