Jaguars Exec: Tannehill Won't Fall Past Dolphins

Jul 17, 2014 9:01 AM

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has gone on the record refuting reports that he is pushing the team to draft Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Despite the owner's attempts, teams around the NFL aren't buying into the belief that Miami could pass on Tannehill. "People know Miami's going to take (Tannehill)," said Jaguars director of player personnel Terry McDonough. "If a team wants a quarterback, they're going to have to come in front of Miami," McDonough said. Jacksonville has the seventh overall pick in Thursday night's first round.

Aaron Ross Will Miss Some Camp To Watch Wife At Olympics

Dec 13, 2014 4:58 AM

Jaguars cornerback Aaron Ross will miss part of training camp this summer so he can watch his wife, Sanya Richards-Ross, participate in the 2012 Olympics. When Richards-Ross, then his girlfriend, ran the 400M in the Beijing Olympics, he couldn't be there to support her. The Jaguars have supported the defensive back's decision. "That's really huge," Ross said. "It speaks volumes about what they're trying to preach here. They preach family first here, and they're not just preaching it. They're actually showing it firsthand. It was important to me and they made it happen." Richards-Ross still has to qualify for the Olympic Team at the U.S. Team Trials in June. After winning relay gold in Beijing and being a part of the relay team which won gold at the world championships, she is expected to make the team.

Cost May Keep Jets From Trading Up

Oct 9, 2014 11:58 PM

If the Jets look to trade up in this month's NFL Draft, the seventh overall pick, owned by the Jaguars, makes the most logical sense. However, acquiring such a high pick might cost too much for New York's liking. "According to the trade value chart, which serves as a guide to teams, the Jets would have to give up their first-, second- and fifth-round picks -- plus maybe a seventh-round throw-in," writes ESPN.com's Rich Cimini.
