Khan: Tebow 'Obviously' Didn't Want To Play For Jaguars

Oct 11, 2014 8:24 AM

Many expected the Jaguars to land hometown quarterback Tim Tebow when the Broncos placed him on the market last week, but he instead landed with the Jets. Jacksonville owner Shahid Khan appears glad that Tebow didn't come to his team. "That would have been the worst thing for Jacksonville and the worst thing for him," Khan told The Florida Times-Union. "He didn't want to come, obviously. ... Any one of the 53 players we have, have to be committed to Jacksonville, making us be the best team we are. The question was: Did he want to come? And if the decision had been taken out (of his hands) and we got him, that would not be good for him, or for us."

Jaguars Haven't Discussed Possible Tebow Scenarios

May 8, 2014 8:34 PM

There is a possibility that Tim Tebow could be had on the trade market if the Broncos are able to sign Peyton Manning. Jaguars owner Shahid Khan is a fan of the hometown quarterback, but The Florida Times-Union reports that Jacksonville's front-office remains unsold on Tebow, no matter how popular he might be around town. Mike Mularkey admitted Tebow hasn't even been discussed. "Way too many things going on to worry about who's getting slotted where and who's going where," Mularkey said. "That has not even been a discussion. Really, there's nothing you can do until 4 o'clock (Tuesday) cause they're all players for other teams, so you really don't want to get into that."
