Packers, Rashan Gary Agree Upon Four-Year, $107.5M Extension

Oct 30, 2023 9:28 AM

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a four-year, $107.5 million contract extension with linebacker Rashan Gary.

A first-round pick in 2019, Gary had been playing this season on the $10.892 million fifth-year option of his rookie contract.

The new deal includes $96 million in new money, including a $34,646,928 signing bonus, according to a source. The total value of the deal, which runs through the 2027 season, could be worth up to $107,532,706 including all bonuses.

Gary was in line for an extension well before this until he tore the ACL in his left knee last November.

Kirk Cousins Tears Right Achilles In Vikings' Win

Oct 29, 2023 7:27 PM

The Minnesota Vikings are bracing for confirmation of a season-ending right Achilles tear for quarterback Kirk Cousins, an injury that will have cascading impact on the short- and long-term future of the organization.

Speaking after the Vikings' 24-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers, an otherwise rousing win that pulled their record even at 4-4 after an 0-3 start, coach Kevin O'Connell said the team was "fearing" an Achilles injury. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Cousins tore the Achilles, an outcome the team said it would not confirm until putting him through additional testing.

Packers' Confidence In Jordan Love 'Not Wavering'

Oct 24, 2023 8:07 AM

The Green Bay Packers remain confident in Jordan Love as their quarterback.

The Packers have lost three-straight games as Love and the offense continue to struggle.

Green Bay (2-4) was shut out in the first half of Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Denver Broncos and has been outscored 63-6 in the first halves of their past four games.

"It all works in unison, so the better everybody is around him, the better he's going to look," Matt LaFleur said.

"Our confidence in him is not wavering one bit. Certainly as the playcaller you put a lot of onus on yourself when things aren't going well, and we'll continue to do that, but we've got to find a way to generate more points because when you're generating points, it's just a totally different narrative."

So much for the Green Bay Packers finally having all of their skill-position players without any restrictions for the first time this season.

The team signed running back Patrick Taylor to the active roster Monday as running back Aaron Jones' return from his Week 1 hamstring injury took a turn for the worse.
