Packers Optimistic Aaron Jones, Christian Watson Will Play

Sep 27, 2023 8:44 AM

The Green Bay Packers are optimistic Aaron Jones and Christian Watson will return for Thursday night's game against the Detroit Lions.

Both players are dealing with hamstring injuries.

Watson, who missed the first three games of the season, said he expects to make his season debut on Thursday at Lambeau Field.

"That's the plan," Watson said.

Jones, who pulled a hamstring in Week 1, wasn't around to speak for himself but Jordan Love and Romeo Doubs did.

"It'll be huge," Doubs said of their return. "I know Christian is a guy that can go out there and make plays. We can all make plays but I know Christian can go out there and make them because he's really experienced in this offense, too."

"We'll have 3-3 back," Doubs added referring to Jones' uniform number 33. "So, Aaron's Aaron. He's been making plays, so it'll be exciting."

Packers Won't Receive First-Round Pick After Aaron Rodgers' Injury

Sep 13, 2023 8:08 AM

The Green Bay Packers have taken a hit as a result of the Aaron Rodgers' injury.

Rodgers will miss the remainder of the season after suffering an Achilles injury on the fourth play of his debut with the New York Jets.

As a result, the Jets will now send the Packers a 2024 second-round pick instead of a first-round pick, since Rodgers will fail to play in 65% of the Jets' offensive snaps this season.

Jordan Love was impressive in the Green Bay Packers' 38-20 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon.

The performance was a sign that he's ready for the starting role and Matt LaFleur said that it showed the team is behind him 100 percent.

"There's a big-time belief in that locker room for Jordan Love," LaFleur said. "I think the guys, they're going to rally around him. They're excited for him. They love him. They respect him. I think you saw that today."

Love went 15-for-27 with 245 yards and three touchdowns in Week 1, good for a 123.2 QB Rating.
