Greg Jennings To Undergo Surgery

May 18, 2014 6:55 AM

Greg Jennings will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn abdominal muscle that has kept him out for most of the season.

The surgery is expected to force Jennings to miss approximately three weeks.

"Honestly, I'm over being bummed about it. That took place three, four weeks ago," Jennings said Thursday. "It is what it is. I need to take care of it to 100 percent, and that's the process I'm taking."

Greg Jennings To Visit Groin Specialist

Jun 10, 2014 9:02 PM

Greg Jennings will visit a specialist as he tries to return from a groin injury.

Jennings has missed four games with his injury, but the Green Bay Packers have a 3-1 record in those games.

Randall Cobb has emerged in the absence of Jennings.

“The plan with Greg just from Day 1 was to try to get as far into the week because with his type of injury, the fatigue, going through the testing and him maxing it out,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said on Monday. “The fatigue part of it we felt sending him out for a bunch of practice was probably not in his best interest for the week he comes back.”

Packers Believe Offense Has 'Turned Corner'

Oct 31, 2014 10:51 AM

The Green Bay Packers' offense began 2012 slowly, but scored 42 points against the previously unbeaten Texans last weekend.

"I'd like to think we're going to turn the corner," said Aaron Rodgers. "We've played better the last three games, I think, on offense, but it's just one game. … It was important for us to get to 3-3."

"We're really trying to build off of our last performance," Mike McCarthy said. "You have to continue to work on the things that you know you need to work on and you need to keep defining and refining the things that you are doing well. We don't spend a whole lot of time looking back at the course of the first six weeks. We're just really focused on getting our fundamentals and everything in line as we get ready to come down there to St. Louis."

The Packers have scored an NFL-best 14 touchdowns over their past three games.

Randall Cobb Excelling In Absence Of Jennings

Oct 31, 2014 12:39 PM

Randall Cobb recorded his first 100-yard game in the Green Bay Packers' Week 6 win at the Texans.

Cobb has replaced Greg Jennings in three-receiver sets over the past 2.5 games.

Cobb has caught 18 passes for 250 yards, while playing in 58 percent of the Packers' snaps during that span.

Rodgers said Cobb "is probably going to go down as one of the best picks in [Packers general manager] Ted Thompson's career, if not the best."

Rodgers called Cobb "a personnel and a coach's dream" because of his innate understanding of the game.

"He's very intelligent and deliberate about his preparation," Rodgers said. "He understands soft spots in zones. He's very detailed in his route running. He and Greg were both very similar when they came in. I still remember the first day that Greg was here in 2006. He ran a comeback outside, and it was just the most mature route I'd seen from a first year player. Obviously I was just a second year player, but you look back and go, man, that guy was really detailed in his routes."

Benson will undergo further tests to determine the extent of the injury.

Alex Green replaced Benson for the Green Bay Packers against the Colts.
