Rodgers Calls NFL Statement On Game 'Bogus Report'

Jul 12, 2014 10:50 PM

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are trying to move on from their Week 3 loss to the Seahawks that saw replacement officials make a controversial call on a Russell Wilson to Golden Tate touchdown pass.

But Rodgers believed the statement from the NFL was a "bogus report."

“I think one thing that we really learned from it is, as frustrating as it is, ultimately it’s a game judged by people who are imperfect, and there’s going to be mistakes,” Rodgers said.

“And you hate it that it affected us and we lost a win because of it, but there’s a lot of blame to go around other than referees. They have a job to do. They’re trying to do their best. They obviously didn’t bring their best in that game and in that play, but there’s a lot of blame to fall on the shoulders of guys like myself who didn’t play their best game that night.”

Randall Cobb's Snap Percentage Falls To 12 Percent

Oct 2, 2014 2:37 PM

Randall Cobb appeared to be on the precipice of a breakout season following a Week 1 performance that saw him return a punt for a touchdown and also lineup several times in the backfield.

But Cobb's snap percentage has decreased each week.

Cobb was on the field for 53% of the offensive snaps in Week 1, 29% in Week 2 and 12% in Week 3.

Seahawks Player: We Didn't Win That Game

Sep 25, 2014 6:58 AM

Several members of the Seattle Seahawks were less than joyous following their 14-12 victory over the Packers as they watched replays of the controversial touchdown catch by Golden Tate.

"We didn't win that game," said an unnamed member of the Seahawks who was in a private room of a local restaurant with Marshawn Lynch.

"Oh, it's really bad," said one veteran NFL assistant. "It's Tuck Rule bad. Rodney King bad."

Seahawks Controversially Beat Packers 14-12 (-1.1 TC, -8 TRC)

Oct 26, 2014 3:28 AM

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Green Bay Packers by a final score of 14-12 with a controversial Golden Tate touchdown pass from Russell Wilson as time expired, which M.D. Jennings appeared to intercept.

One player on a rival NFC North team told Yahoo's Michael Silver that it was "the worst call in NFL history."

The Seahawks had a -1.1 deficit in The Trench Counter, averaging more yards per pass and rush but recording eight fewer first downs as they struggled to threaten to score other than the two Tate touchdowns. The Packers had a +8 edge in Total Rushes/Completions.

Wilson finished the game 10-for-21 for 130 yards and two touchdowns to Tate, including a brilliant strike from 41 yards in the second quarter. Wilson also added 18 yards on three carries.

Marshawn Lynch was the driving force of Seattle's offense, rushing 25 times for 98 yards.

Aaron Rodgers had a solid game, going 26-for-39 for 223 yards, but he was still not his 2011 MVP self. Rodgers was sacked eight times for 39 yards, but halftime adjustments allowed the Packers to move the ball more effectively.

Chris Clemons sacked Rodgers four times for the Seahawks, while Bruce Irvin and Brandon Mebane each had two.

Favre Moving On From Packers Departure

Oct 3, 2014 12:11 AM

Brett Favre has seemingly moved on from the bitter feelings surrounding his departure from the Green Bay Packers.

Favre returned from a brief retirement, but the Packers decided to move on with Aaron Rodgers.

“Even though it’s a shame the way things went down, as time goes by, it’s kind of like a girl, you just get over it,” said Favre.

Favre will surely one day return to Lambeau to have his jersey retired.

“I’m sure that day’s going to happen, but I haven’t thought a lot of about it,” Favre said. “The Packers have had great success since I left, not surprised by that. Great group of talented players there led by Aaron (Rodgers), of course. That organization is really apart from the rest, maybe the Yankees I guess, just in tradition and history. I’m so thankful I was part of it.

“I know that day, how it will unfold, I have no idea when that will happen. I don’t think their side is thinking about that. They’re trying to get back to the Super Bowl, and really I’ve got my plate full. I think that’s good for both sides, not that we don’t need to shake hands and move on. I think in some ways that has happened, but I do see the day, it’s going to happen. When? I have no idea.”

Finley's Agent: Rodgers Not A Leader

Oct 31, 2014 2:14 PM

Jermichael Finley's agent, Blake Baratz, posted on Twitter this week comments that questioned the ability of Aaron Rodgers to lead.

When asked by a fan why Rodgers wasn't on his list of leaders, Baratz replied that, "ARod is a great QB he isn't a great leader. There's a major difference. Leaders take the blame & make every1 better. He doesn't."

Baratz apologized to Finley and defended his right to express his opinion.

"Last comment on Twitter Frenzy: 1) I apologize 2 @jermichaelf88 because he had nothing 2 do w MY comments or opinions. I understand the power of social media and how it can be taken in & out of context. Again, I will apologize for that.

"I will always own up 2 my own opinions, I have no reason 2 hide from them, but please always understand, they're mine & mine only."
