The Lions are working on a deal with rookie defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
Detroit practiced Saturday afternoon while the team and Duh's representatives worked on a contract agreement.
"I just got off the phone with those guys a minute ago," Lions president Tom Lewand said. "We had an extended conversation and I'm sure we'll have another one shortly. Both sides are focused on getting this done as quickly as possible."

Lions, Jahvid Best Agree To Terms
The Lions have agreed to a five-year contract with rookie running back Jahvid Best.
Best, the second of Detroit's first-round picks, was taken 30th overall in April's NFL Draft.
The deal is for $12.7 million, $7.1 million guaranteed, according to a league source.
Lions, Suh Talking Big Money
The Lions drafted defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh with the second pick in April's NFL Draft.
No first-round picks have signed yet as training camps near and it appears as though Suh and his agent, Roosevelt Barnes, are looking for major money.
"I'm negotiating for Ndamukong Suh, and the player that he is and the person he is -- on and off the field," Barnes said.
"A player like Ndamukong Suh hasn't come along in many years, so it's hard to say anything about what has happened in the past and how much impact that would have as a reference point."
Burleson Eager To Prove He's Worth Detroit's $25M Investment
Nate Burleson signed a five-year, $25 million deal with the Lions and he's eager to prove he's worth the investment.
"When I first met with them, I talked," Burleson said. "I said: 'Hey, look. I just signed here. The politics of football is that I'm going to play, just because I got paid.' But my job is to come in and prove that I'm worth the money and give you guys everything that I've got. I'm going to go out every day and try to be the best receiver on the field and have the most catches, try to make the most plays and stand out the most. And I think they respected that."
Lions Sign QB Shaun Hill
Shaun Hill has signed a deal with the Lions that will keep under contract through the 2011 season and other terms were not disclosed.
The Lions got the nine-year veteran in a March trade with the San Francisco 49ers, who received a 2011 draft pick.
Kevin Smith Likes Addition Of Competition At RB In Best
Kevin Smith isn't shying away from the competition with Jahvid Best, and he's not uncomfortable talking about it.
"I mean, I'm a competitor," Smith said. "It's not just Best. It's any back that's been in the backfield. I think he's a good addition to the backfield, and I think he'll be able to do some things to help us win games."
Lions President Pleads Guilty To Impaired Driving
Lions president Tom Lewand pleaded guilty Friday to driving while impaired.
He was pulled over in northern Michigan two weeks ago for driving erratically near a bar.
Lewand was sentenced to six months of probation with $870 in fines and costs.
The NFL is still reviewing his case.
Money Isn't Expected To Change Suh
Lions rookie defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has made it no secret that he loves money and he'll likely sign a $60 million contract with around $30 million in guarantees.
Tom Kowalski of MLive.com wonders if the money will change Suh, who displayed an unbelievable motor in college.
"By all accounts, Suh is one of those players who believes that being a high draft pick and an instant millionaire is just the beginning of his football career," Kowalski writes.
Lions Release Safety Daniel Bullocks
The Lions have released safety Daniel Bullocks.
Bullocks was the last of former Detroit general manager Matt Millen's draft picks left on the team's roster.
"My expectations are to come back and be a starter," said Bullocks in May. "I want to get back to where I left off before the injury and try to show these coaches what I can do. I didn't get an opportunity to do that last year."
Bly Says Culture Of Lions Has Changed
Veteran cornerback Dre' Bly has returned to the Lions and is happy to see that a losing culture has been changed.
Bly signed a two-year deal with Detroit last week. He recorded 19 interceptions for the team from 2003-06.
"I've also heard the attitude of the team is completely different," he said.
"I felt like I was a part of the community when I was there in Detroit. I always felt like I was family. I had a great relationship with the people upstairs, the administrators, people that worked around the facility."
