Stafford Will Have Knee Surgery

Oct 29, 2014 1:34 AM

The Lions have placed rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford on the injured reserve with a knee injury. Detroit coach Jim Schwartz says the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 draft will undergo surgery after the season. "We anticipate a minor surgery just to clean out some irritants and debris," Schwartz said. "Since he's had [the injury], he's had on-and-off swelling. It's been stuff he's been able to play through, but it's also something we knew we needed to address after the season." Stafford threw for 2,267 yards, 13 touchdowns and 20 interceptions in 10 games.

Delmas: If I Paid Attention To Our Record, I'd Kill Myself

Oct 29, 2014 1:35 AM

Lions rookie defensive back Louis Delmas told reporters on Sunday that he doesn't pay attention to the team's record. Detroit lost 31-24 to Arizona in Week 15, falling to 2-12 on the season. "I don't really pay attention to (our) record," Delmas said, when asked how much the losing is bothering him. "But if I did, I'd probably kill myself. I just pay attention to the game. Once you're losing, you aren't going to see any smile on this face. This loss is very tough on us, not only myself, but the team." Delmas returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown in Detroit's loss to Arizona.
