The Lions won't make a play for Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, according to Jason La Canfora.
Detroit doesn't want Haynesworth to have a negative influence on rookie Ndamukong Suh.
"Lions no longer mulling any trade for Albert Haynesworth. Have determined he'd be a possible negative influence on Suh," La Canfora wrote on his Twitter page.

Lions President Apologizes For Arrest
Lions president Tom Lewand has apologized after he was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
Lewand said in a statement Saturday night that he is "deeply sorry" for his actions and takes full responsibility.
Suh Doesn't Expect Holdout, Despite Controversial Agents
Ndamukong Suh has no plans to extend his holdout into training camp.
"Like I've always said, I hope and plan to be in training camp," Suh said Friday after the Lions ended a three-day minicamp in Allen Park. "Where the contract stands? I have no clue. My agents are handling that right now."
Suh is represented by Roosevelt Barnes, a Lions linebacker in 1982-85, and Eugene Parker. Parker represents San Francisco receiver Michael Crabtree, the 10th overall pick last year who held out until October.
That did not seem to faze Lions general manager Martin Mayhew.
"I don't think it's going to be a big issue," Mayhew said. "I know his agents very well. He's got two great agents who are very accomplished guys."
Mayhew Says Lions In 'Much Better' Shape
Lions general manager Martin Mayhew says the team is in "much better" shape than it was when he took over the job.
He was promoted to replace Matt Millen three games into Detroit's winless season in 2008.
"I think we're a much better football team. I think we're a better organization," Mayhew said Friday. "It's not me, we've done it collectively. But I think we've come a long way."
Schwartz Disappointed About Losing Workouts
Lions coach Jim Schwartz is disappointed that the team lost two workouts.
The NFL determined that their previous workouts were too intense.
"I was most disappointed for some of our players, not our established players but the young guys who are trying to make the team, who are trying to improve," Schwartz said. "They were denied the opportunity."
Lions Still Open To Adding Atogwe
The Lions haven't completely closed the door on the possibility of signing free-agent safety O.J. Atogwe.
"I think we'll just leave it with what we said before. Every chance we have to improve the team, we'll explore. Let's leave it there," Detroit coach Jim Schwartz said.
Jaguars, Lions Lose Final Days Of OTAs
The Jaguars and Lions have forfeited their final two organized team activities to resolve violations regarding the intensity and tempo of drills.
Both teams settled the cases with the NFL Management Counsel and the NFL Players Association on Thursday.
"We will comply with the league's directive and we will continue to respect and emphasize the NFL's rules and regulations regarding the offseason training program," Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said in a statement.
"I don't think in any way this diminishes the amount of work we were able to get done; the energy and the effort was outstanding," Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said Thursday. "I feel like we accomplished a great deal as a young football team that's very hungry, that's very eager, so I'm real proud of the effort our guys gave this spring."
Detroit's Delmas Predicts Eight Wins, Playoffs
Lions safety Louis Delmas sees big things for the team this season.
Delmas expects the team to win eight games and make the postseason.
"We know what we can do," Delmas said. "We just slipped up last year. I know that we lost a lot of games on last drives last year. It's no surprise if we come out and get eight wins -- I won't be surprised at all. We know we can do it."
The Ravens and Jets earned playoff berths with 9-7 records last season.
"With eight wins?" he said. "If we get eight wins and we don't make it to the playoffs, I'll be pissed. So that's what we're shooting for."
Best Could Return Kicks For Lions
The Lions are impressed with rookie running back Jahvid Best and they could ask him to return kickoffs this season as well.
"The first couple days, I don't even think he was running full speed, just trying to kind of figure it out, which I completely understand," quarterback Matthew Stafford said. "He's getting it now. He's starting to understand what his role is in this offense and how we can use him. He's a smart kid, a good football player. We've just got to keep giving him experience."
Detroit plans to use Best in a variety of ways.
"He's working there, and he did that at Cal," coach Jim Schwartz said. "I think there's a lot of ground to be covered before we actually return a kick this year, but yeah, he'll definitely be in the mix."
Lions Looking At Atogwe
The Lions are reportedly looking at free-agent safety Oshiomogho Atogwe.
Detroit has an open spot to start opposite Louis Delmas and they have focused on beefing up their defense this offseason.
However, Atogwe's salary demands may be too high for the Lions.
