Suh Aims To Avoid Hold Out

Jul 31, 2014 11:25 PM

Ndamukong Suh isn't close to signing with the Lions, but the former Nebraska defensive tackle certainly doesn't want to hold out. Suh's agent, Eugene Parker, said the process of closing a deal with a first-round draft pick takes time and that "when there's a sense of urgency by both parties, things get done." Detroit selected Suh with the second overall pick in April. "I'm not a guy that likes to be a part of drama," he said. "I definitely don't want to hold out."

Lions Showing Interest In Bulluck

Oct 24, 2014 5:51 PM

The Lions are among the teams monitoring linebacker Keith Bulluck, who will soon begin making visits to teams. Bulluck is recovering from a torn knee ligament. "I think that he's a guy, among others, that we've had our eye on," coach Jim Schwartz said Thursday. "It just throws a little bit of a monkey wrench into it for him because he's coming off an ACL. But he's a quality player that's played for a long time in the NFL, and when he's available, I'm sure there will be a lot of teams that will be interested in him." Schwartz was Tennessee's linebackers coach in 2000 when the Titans drafted Bulluck in the first round.

Jul 31, 2014 11:25 PM

Lions rookie defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh got advice from rapper/businessman Jay-Z back in March. Suh, who was taken by Detroit with the second overall pick last month, met Jay-Z backstage at the Palms Casino Resort in March. "He said, 'Stay humble, hungry. And continue to press on,' " Suh said. "He was very proud of the way I carried myself and so forth. Just stay who you are, stay true to what you are and what you believe in. Don't change yourself. Don't let the money change you."

Lions Will Lean On Rookie Jahvid Best

Jul 31, 2014 11:25 PM

The Lions have high expectations for rookie running back Jahvid Best, who they traded back into the first round to take. Regardless, Best won't assume that Detroit has plans to start him. "I understand there's a lot of potential I have to play, but I just have to come in and do the best I can and help the team to win. Things should go great," Best said. "There's a running back by committee, so we can all get it done. I've just got to play my part." Best is expected to be the feature back, with Maurice Morris and Kevin Smith getting carries while he returns to 100 percent.

Lions Not Expected To Sign Pacman

Apr 8, 2014 3:30 PM

The Lions will not sign free-agent cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones anytime soon, according to a report on MLive.com. Jones said last week that he believed Detroit could use him. They lack depth in the secondary. The former Titan and Cowboy, who didn't play last season after a series of off-the-field problems, says that he would accept a minimum-salary, incentive-laden deal to return to the NFL.
