The Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott has resumed contract negotiations for the first time since the exclusive franchise tag was placed on him.
Prescott is the first quarterback in the history of the Cowboys to have the franchise tag.

The issue is centered on contract length as the Cowboys want a five-year deal while Prescott is seeking a four-year deal.
Dallas Cowboys center Travis Frederick announced his retirement via Twitter on Monday night.
While the move came as a surprise to the Cowboys, sources said there had been rumors that Frederick, who just turned 29, might walk away.
Frederick has battled Guillain-Barre syndrome, an autoimmune disease that affects the nervous system, which kept him off the field in 2018.
"I made my return to the field, played well overall, and was selected to the Pro Bowl, but it was a difficult year for me," Frederick said in his announcement.
"Each day I faced a struggle: I could no longer perform at my highest level. Playing 'well' is not what I expect of myself and is not what my teammates deserve. Because of this, I know my days as a football player are done. I am proud of what I have accomplished in my career, and I walk away with my head held high."
The Cowboys signed Frederick to a six-year, $56.4 million extension before the 2016 season that included $28 million in guaranteed money.
Randy Gregory, who was suspended indefinitely in February 2019, has filed for reinstatement to the NFL, according to a source.
Under the league's substance-abuse policy, the NFL has to make a decision on Gregory's status in the next 60 days.
The Dallas Cowboys defensive end was suspended all of last season for recurring issues involving the substance-abuse policy that date to the 2015 combine, before he was picked in the second round. He has been suspended four different times for failed or missed tests.
Gregory has admitted to issues with anxiety and marijuana use.
The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to a one-year, $4 million deal with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

Washington attempted to sign Cooper on Monday, but he ultimately decided to remain with the Cowboys.
Cooper's deal includes $60 million in guaranteed money.
The Miami Dolphins have agreed to sign Byron Jones to the highest paid cornerback in the NFL with a five-year, $82.5 million deal including $57 million in guaranteed money.
Jones was a first round pick in 2015 by the Dallas Cowboys and moved from safety to cornerback in 2018.
Opposing quarterbacks completed just 53% of their passes directed at Jones in 2019, and he gave up three touchdowns.
The Dallas Cowboys have placed the exclusive franchise tag on Dak Prescott.
The exclusive tag means that no other franchise is allowed to sign the quarterback.
