Cowboys Put Everson Griffen On Trade Block

Oct 26, 2020 6:11 PM

The Dallas Cowboys have put Everson Griffen on the trade block.

Griffen was signed by the Cowboys in August after a long career with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Cowboys have a 2-5 record and would likely be heading towards angling for 2021, but they remain in the NFC East picture as the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Football Team also only have two wins.

Unnamed Cowboys Call Out New Coaching Staff

Oct 21, 2020 9:02 AM

A number of unnamed Dallas Cowboys have vented to the media about the team's new coaching staff.

"Cowboys players initially bought into keeping things internal," reporter Jane Slater tweeted. "Now as they sit 2-4 the discontent is leaking out. On the coaching staff 'totally unprepared. They don't teach. They don't have any sense of adjusting on the fly.' Another 'they just aren’t good at their jobs.'"

The Cowboys are 2-4 but first place in the NFC East.

Randy Gregory Cleared From Exempt List To Play In Week 7

Oct 20, 2020 8:38 PM

Randy Gregory has been removed from the commissioner's exempt list.

Gregory had been on the list since being reinstated by the NFL in September. Gregory has not played since the divisional round playoff loss during the 2018 season to the Los Angeles Rams.

Gregory's return comes at an opportune time for the Dallas Cowboys as their pass rush has struggled for most of the season.

Ezekiel Elliott Takes Blame For Blowout Loss To Cardinals

Oct 20, 2020 3:14 PM

Ezekiel Elliott took all the blame for the Dallas Cowboys' 38-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football.

It was the team's first game since Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending ankle injury.

"I don't think we can use that as an excuse," Elliott said of not having Prescott. "I'm just going to keep saying it over and over -- I started the game out with two fumbles, gave the ball away and gave them all the momentum they need to go take off. I want to say I'm sorry and this one is on me. I need to be better."

Elliott finished the game with 80 total yards on 20 touches. He fumbled on back-to-back drives in the first half that changed the course of the game.

"I mean, when you're fumbling every game obviously teams are going to lock in on it and go for it even more," he said. "That's even more of a reason I need to figure it out, man. I don't want to keep talking about it, but I've got to figure out a way to figure it out."

Cowboys' Stephen Jones: Dak Prescott Is Still 'Our Future'

Oct 13, 2020 9:06 AM

Dak Prescott's season-ending right ankle injury doesn't change his future with the Dallas Cowboys.

"Absolutely not," Stephen Jones said. "He's our future. He's special. If anyone can overcome anything, it would be Dak. This is something that our doctors feel good that he'll overcome and come back better than ever."

Prescott is set to be an unrestricted free agent after this season after playing on the $31.4 million franchise tag in 2020. The Cowboys can use the tag on him again next March, which would cost $37.7 million, or allow him to test the free-agent market.

Dak Prescott Undergoes Surgery On Right Ankle

Dak Prescott suffered a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle that required surgery Sunday night.

The injury occurred with 6 minutes, 33 seconds left in the third quarter of the Dallas Cowboys' 37-34 win over the New York Giants.

Prescott left the field, his right leg in an air cast, on a cart and in tears. He was taken to a local hospital for surgery to clean out the wound and repair the fracture, a procedure that went "very well."

Prescott was off to a record-setting start to the season, with three consecutive games passing for at least 450 yards.

Cowboys Could Lose Tyron Smith For Rest Of 2020

Oct 8, 2020 5:40 PM

The Dallas Cowboys could lose Tyron Smith for the remainder of the 2020 season.

Smith's neck injury flared up in practice following the Cowboys' season opener, and he missed the next two games before returning for Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns. But he has suffered a setback.

Smith is seeking a second opinion to find the best way to resolve the issue.

"He's further back than he was this time last week -- would be the best way to describe it," Mike McCarthy said.
