Cooper Kupp Feeling 'Pretty Good' After Injury Scare

Oct 31, 2022 12:06 AM

Cooper Kupp was down on the field after injuring his right ankle late in the Los Angeles Rams' loss to the San Francisco 49ers, but the wide receiver said "things are pointing towards dodging a bullet" with the injury.

Kupp said he feels "pretty good right now," but that he will know more after he sees how his ankle responds over the next few days. Kupp had tape wrapped around his right ankle during his postgame news conference.

"It just got rolled up a little bit," Kupp said. "Foot got caught, but I think it was able to slide out of there before there was too much damage done, and so, we'll see over these next few days how it responds."

Jets Fear Breece Hall Suffered Torn ACL

Oct 24, 2022 8:57 AM

The New York Jets improved to 5-2 on Sunday, but the victory came with a cost as rookie Breece Hall suffered a torn ACL.

Hall was carted off the field in the second quarter of the Jets' 16-9 win over the Denver Broncos. He will have an MRI on Monday, but "the initial diagnosis is not good," Robert Saleh said.

Hall ran for a 62-yard touchdown in the first quarter, reaching a maximum speed of 21.87 mph -- the fastest this season by any ball carrier, according to Next Gen Stats.

The second-round pick has rushed for 463 yards and four touchdowns this season.

Backup quarterback Brett Rypien, who has taken a significant number of snaps with the starting offense throughout the week, will start.

Commanders Place Carson Wentz On IL After Finger Surgery

Oct 22, 2022 1:29 PM

The Washington Commanders placed quarterback Carson Wentz on injured reserve, leaving him sidelined for at least four games and costing him a chance to face his former teams.

Wentz underwent surgery Monday to repair his fractured right ring finger. He hurt his finger while following through on a pass in the first half of a 12-7 win over the Chicago Bears on Oct. 13.

This also means Wentz won't play vs. his two former teams - Indianapolis on Oct. 30 and Nov. 14 at Philadelphia.

Randall Cobb Out Multiple Weeks With Ankle Injury

Oct 18, 2022 9:11 AM

The Green Bay Packers will be without Randall Cobb for multiple weeks because of an ankle injury.

Cobb suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the New York Jets.

"It's not going to be like a one-week deal or anything like that; I think he's going to miss some time," Matt LaFleur said. "But he definitely avoided a serious injury."

It's possible the Packers could place Cobb on injured reserve, which would mean he'd miss at least four games.

Tua Tagovailoa Preparing To Start Against Steelers

Oct 18, 2022 9:02 AM

Tua Tagovailoa is preparing to start for the Miami Dolphins against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night.

Tagovailoa has spent the past two weeks in concussion protocol. He began football activities last week and cleared concussion protocol Saturday but was inactive for the Dolphins' loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6.

"He's a captain. He's a captain for a reason, and as I've told you guys from the onset, I think he's a very, very good player at that position," McDaniel said.

"So very good players, they definitely give people a boost -- not because of what other people aren't but more just because he is who he is. So he's a strong fabric of this team, and that's exciting when you get to go play with one of your brothers, which is why the team will be excited, and it will be exciting."

Tagovailoa hasn't played since Miami's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 29, when he sustained a concussion that resulted in a brief hospitalization after hitting his head on the ground.

Dak Prescott Plans To Return In Week 7 Vs. Lions

Oct 17, 2022 8:44 AM

Dak Prescott hopes to return to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions.

Prescott has missed the last five games after suffering a fractured right thumb in the Cowboys' season-opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"That's my plan," the quarterback said. "Obviously, got to see the doc, but, yeah, that's kind of my plan."

He had surgery on Sept. 12 and was looking at a four- to six-week recovery timeline. Last week marked the first time he threw passes and took snaps, and he was listed as a limited participant in practice on Thursday.

"I plan on going into this week and trying to get my full week of practice," Prescott said.
