Russell Wilson Would Approve Trade To Cowboys, Saints, Raiders, Bears

Mar 1, 2021 8:37 AM

Russell Wilson has not requested a trade from the Seattle Seahawks, but his agent revealed he has a four-team list of destinations he would approve of being dealt to.

Agent Mark Rodgers said the only teams Wilson would go to are the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders and Chicago Bears.

Wilson has expressed frustration after the season.

The Seahawks, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler earlier this month, made it clear to suitors that Wilson would not be dealt.

Teams Believe Base For Russell Wilson Trade Would Be Three Firsts

Feb 24, 2021 8:17 AM

It's unknown if the Seattle Seahawks are truly willing to trade Russell Wilson, but one-third of the league has already called about the possibility of trading for the quarterback.

The belief is that the starting point for serious trade talks would be three first-round picks.

Trading Wilson would require the Seahawks to take on $39 million of dead money onto their cap.

Eagles Reportedly Discuss Zach Ertz Trade With Colts, Seahawks

Feb 16, 2021 8:27 AM

While Carson Wentz is expected to be traded soon, the Philadelphia Eagles are also working on a possible trade involving Zach Ertz, according to reports.

The Eagles have specifically reached out to the Indianapolis Colts and Seattle Seahawks about an Ertz trade.

The Colts have already been in discussions with the Eagles about Wentz, but not at Philadelphia's price.

If a trade partner can't be found, the Eagles could release Ertz outright.

Seahawks Receiving Trade Interest In Russell Wilson

Feb 12, 2021 11:32 AM

The Seattle Seahawks have received trade interest in Russell Wilson from a number of teams as he has made public comments about his uncertain future with the franchise.

"More teams continue to call the Seahawks about the availability, potentially, of Russell Wilson," said Tom Pelissero. "But I can also tell you those teams, from what they've picked up on so far, have gotten no indication that the Seahawks are in any way inclined to trade their star quarterback."

Wilson is under contract for three more seasons and has a no-trade clause.

Seahawks Management Not Happy With Russell Wilson

Feb 11, 2021 3:31 PM

Russell Wilson raised some eyebrows this week when he told Dan Patrick that he's frustrated by getting hit too much and that he's not sure if the Seattle Seahawks will make him available via trade.

His candidness rubbed Seahawks management the wrong way.

"A source told me that the Seahawks' management is not happy with Russell Wilson and his camp for taking this to the media," Patrick said on his show later in the week. "You wonder if they're going to be able to co-exist. ... The current situation is not sustainable. That's what I was told."

Russell Wilson Sounds Off On Hits He's Taking With Seahawks

Feb 11, 2021 9:04 AM

Russell Wilson says he's frustrated by the amount of times he has been hit and expressed his desire to be more involved with the Seattle Seahawks' personnel decisions.

"Like any player, you never want to get hit," Wilson said. "That's the reality of playing this position; ask any quarterback who wants to play this game. But at the same time, it's part of the job and everything else. I think that the reality is that I've definitely been hit. I've been sacked almost 400 times, so we've got to get better. I've got to find ways to get better too."

Asked if he is frustrated with the Seahawks, Wilson said with a laugh: "I'm frustrated [about] getting hit too much. I'm frustrated with that part of it. At the end of the day, you want to win."

Russell Wilson Receives Walter Payton Man Of The Year Award

Feb 7, 2021 8:39 AM

Russell Wilson has been named the 2020 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in recognition of his COVID-19 relief donations and his founding of a charter school, among other charitable efforts.

"The Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, to me, represents excellence, not just on the field, but more importantly off the field," Wilson told the Seahawks' website. "In life, we're granted the opportunity to have an impact, no matter what sphere of influence we're around. Walter Payton was one of the greatest examples of what he was able to do not just on the field, but more important off the field to give back and to serve and to love and to care. For me, to be able to be even mentioned with a name like Walter Payton is one of the greatest blessings I could ever have and one of the greatest honors you could ever have."

The Wilsons donated 1 million meals to Feeding America and Food Lifeline early in March to help those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the Seahawks, the Wilsons then partnered with Wheels Up to create the Meals Up campaign, "which raised the equivalent of more than 50 million meals." The Why Not You Foundation helped expand the Ride United program to deliver food and supplies to vulnerable populations in 175 communities throughout the country, according to the team.

Wilson has visited the Seattle Children's hospital almost every Tuesday since his rookie season in 2012, but he began making virtual visits this year due to COVID-19.

"For me personally, 2020 really changed my perspective," Wilson said, according to the Seahawks. "I've always thought about others and that's always something that's been important to Ciara and me, but when you realize that so many people every day can be affected in so many different ways, it was so important that we give back. It felt like God was calling on us to do something, calling on us to use our resources, use our networks of relationships and such to come together and really try to make a difference. Ultimately it made me think about my kids, that I pray that this isn't them one day, so that's why we really tried to step up and make a difference in 2020."

Russell Wilson: Seahawks Got 'A Little Bit Passive' Offensively

Feb 5, 2021 8:14 AM

Russell Wilson believes the Seattle Seahawks struggled in the second half of the season because they got passive on offense.

In an interview with Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports, Wilson gave several reasons why the offense suddenly struggled to move the ball.

"I think the thing for us, we had such an electric, amazing start at the beginning of the year. We were able to do everything. We went for it every game, every play, every possession," Wilson said. “We hit some bumps in the road. I could have played better. I should have played better. I can do my part, too, obviously, as well. I think what happened was that we had several guys go down up front, we didn't have our starters, necessarily, and everything else.

"But also as our defense kept continuing to play better, that's the time for us to really take off and keep going and keep preparing at the highest level. That's something we really wanted to be able to do throughout the rest of the season. Unfortunately, we didn't go for it as much, I don't think. I think we got a little bit passive. And we got to make sure that never happens again. We got to make sure we do everything we can to be playing this Sunday. That's what it takes. We got great players, we got our best players, we got to let it go, go for it and everything else."

The Seahawks averaged 34.25 points per game over the first eight games of the season, but just 22.8 points per game over their final nine.
