Seahawks' Chad Wheeler Arrested On Felony Domestic Violence Charge

Jan 27, 2021 12:53 PM

Chad Wheeler of the Seattle Seahawks was being held in King County Jail on Monday night after being arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence, accused of assaulting his girlfriend at a residence in Kent.

In a statement Monday night, the Seahawks said, “We are aware of the situation and still gathering information.”

A Kent Police Department report said police responded to a call of a woman who was locked in a bathroom following a “physical fight” with her boyfriend.

The victim had called 911 to state that she was being “killed.” Police were advised that she had suffered a dislocated arm and was bleeding.

Officers forced their way in to the bathroom and found the victim and Wheeler. He was standing beside her, the report said.

Wheeler initially was uncooperative before being detained, the report said, and he did not speak to officers.

The report said the incident began when Wheeler asked the victim to bow to him, and when she did not he grabbed her and threw her on a bed.

The report said Wheeler then strangled the victim before she lost consciousness. The report also said when she regained consciousness, Wheeler was standing near the bed and said, “Wow you’re alive?”

Russell Wilson Wants Input On Seattle's Next Offensive Coordinator

Jan 15, 2021 8:38 AM

Russell Wilson didn't want the Seattle Seahawks to move on from Brian Schottenheimer as their offensive coordinator.

Now he wants some say on who they hire to replace him.

"I think it's vital, it's critical, super significant, obviously, that I'm a part of that process," Wilson said. "Coach and I have definitely been talking about that, [general manager John Schneider] too as well. We've had some ... great dialogue about the thought process of who we want, the leader ... the innovator, all that kind of different stuff that you want. I think that's the super critical thing, obviously at this point in my career because you spend every day with that person ... As many hours as me and Schotty spent together, I'm going to miss the guy because we spent so much time together and worked so hard.

"The next person, whoever that is, it's really critical that we're on the same page at all times and always talking and vibing and really, really on the same page."
