Percy Harvin Looks 'Amazing' In Workout

Sep 25, 2014 6:53 AM

Percy Harvin had a throwing session with Russell Wilson, which helped persuade Pete Carroll not to place him on season-ending injured reserve.

Harvin has played in just one game this season following offseason hip surgery.

Harvin looked "amazing" during the session and the Seahawks believe it is possible he will play in their playoff game on Jan. 11.

Harvin signed a $67 million, six-year contract with the Seahawks.

Percy Harvin Unlikely To Return This Season

Jul 31, 2014 6:44 AM

Percy Harvin is doubtful to play any time soon and will likely be placed on injured reserve by the Seattle Seahawks.

Harvin had offseason hip surgery and returned for just one game. Harvin caught one ball for 17 yards, along with one punt return and one kickoff.

The Seahawks acquired Harvin in March from the Minnesota Vikings for a first round pick in 2013, a seventh round pick and a mid-round pick in 2014. The Seahawks also gave Harvin a six-year, $67 million extension.

Sherman Would Give Defensive POY To Earl Thomas

Jul 29, 2014 3:05 AM

Richard Sherman believes someone from the Seattle Seahawks should be named Defensive Player of the Year and his vote goes to Earl Thomas.

“I would have to give it to Earl,” Sherman told Seahawks.com. “I think Earl is having a fantastic year. He’s flying around, tackling everywhere, forcing fumbles, getting interceptions. I don’t think there’s anybody out there playing better defense and I think our defense is No. 1 in the league. So usually the best quarterback with the best receivers isn’t punished for that, so don’t punish one of the best players on the best defense. So I think he should get it.”

Unlike J.J. Watt last season, there is no clear-cut favorite for the award.

“If there’s anywhere the defensive player of the year should be it should be in Seattle,” Sherman said. “Whether it’s myself or Earl.”

Carroll More Concerned With Losing Edge Than Rest For Seahawks

Jul 16, 2014 6:30 PM

The Seattle Seahawks would have clinched the top seed in the NFC had they defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14 and they then would have faced nearly a month of games without anything tangible to play for.

“It would have been a different challenge,” Pete Carroll said Monday. It would have been an entirely different challenge for us mentally; for the coaching staff and for the players as well. I mentioned it last week that this could be the best scenario that you have to stay in it and keep battling. I’m more concerned about losing the edge that we’ve gained and it’s taken months and months and months to get here, and then all of sudden you kick into a month mode where it could be different.”

A win or tie by the Seahawks or a loss or tie by the 49ers will clinch the one seed for the Seahawks.

Russell Wilson Becomes Only QB To Win 23 Games In First Two Seasons

Aug 4, 2014 3:31 AM

Russell Wilson is the only quarterback to win 23 games in his first two NFL seasons and also joined Dan Marino and Peyton Manning as the only quarterbacks with at least 50 touchdown passes in their first two seasons.

“He’s so special,” Peter Carroll said of Wilson. “He’s just a tremendous competitor and such a unique individual in that’s he able to do the kind of stuff with the names on this kind of list. And we still have game left [this season], so he’s going to keep going. There are markers this guy is going to continue to knock off.”
