The Seattle Seahawks have signed Carlos Hyde to a one-year deal.

Hyde rushed for 1,070 yards and six touchdowns on 245 carries for the Houston Texans last season.

Hyde was a second round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2014.

Rashaad Penny suffered a torn ACL last season, while Chris Carson is coming off a hip injury.

The Seattle Seahawks have made an offer to Devonta Freeman, who remains a free agent.

Freeman has remained on the market since the Falcons released him March 16. He gained only 656 yards on 184 carries last season.

New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar have had arrest warrants issued in connection to an armed robbery investigation.

Baker's arrest warrant is for four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. Dunbar is wanted on four counts of armed robbery with a firearm.

The alleged incident took place early Thursday morning at a party that began Wednesday evening. According to the police report, Baker and Dunbar are accused of stealing money and watches with force while armed with semi-automatic firearms.

The Cleveland Browns "floated" the possibility of acquiring Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks for the top pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Seahawks were starting at another extension for Wilson at the time.

Wilson currently has a no-trade clause and is contract will expire after the 2023 season.

Some close to the situation believe Wilson will eventually be traded.

Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a one-year deal.

Smith joined the Seahawks in 2019 as Russell Wilson's backup.

Smith was a second round pick in 2013 by the Jets.

Jadeveon Clowney says he's healthy and ready to contribute wherever he ends up as a free agent.

"I don't know if people think I'm hurting because of what I went through because of the core [injury] or because [of injuries] in previous years," Clowney told Fox 26 in Houston. "But I just want to let people know I'm ready, and I'm gonna be ready to go whenever the time comes."

The defensive end played for the Seattle Seahawks last season.

"I've got a few [offers], but the process for me is really just weighing my options and taking my time," Clowney said. "I ain't in no rush right now. I know with what's going on right now in the world, with the coronavirus and everything, it's a slow process until teams really can see me and see what I got and give me physicals and everything.

"So I ain't in no rush. I'm just waiting on the right opportunity and the right timing for me."

Early in the offseason the door appeared closed to a return to Seattle, but that's changed as the offseason has progressed.

"I love Seattle," Clowney said. "I love everybody on the coaching staff. I wouldn't trade those guys in. I hope we can work something out."

Marshawn Lynch says his agent has been in contact with the Seattle Seahawks about a potential return to the team.

"Well, it's almost on that 'expect the unexpected,'" Lynch told Scott Van Pelt. "But just as far as right now, what I do know is, Imma keep it solid. My agent [Doug Hendrickson] has been in talks with Seattle, so like I said, we'll see what happens. If it works out and I get back up there, it is what it is. And if not, s---, I'm lookin' good. So I ain't really trippin' too much."

Lynch, who turned 34 in April, unretired for the second time before Week 17 of last season to rejoin the Seahawks after injuries decimated their backfield.

The Seattle Seahawks expect to have a healthy Chris Carson when the 2020 season begins.

Carson fractured his hip in a Week 16 loss, but he's progressing well.

However, the Seahawks aren't as sure about Rashaad Penny. Penny tore his ACL a few weeks before Carson went down.
