Pete Carroll 'Pissed' Over Tackle That Injured Chris Carson

Sep 29, 2020 8:42 AM

Chris Carson has a first-degree knee sprain and Pete Carroll is upset over the play on which the injury occurred.

Carson was hurt in the fourth quarter of the Seattle Seahawks' 38-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys when defensive tackle Trysten Hill executed a gator-roll tackle. He brought down Carson from behind and, with both players on the ground, continued to hold on to the running back's left leg while rolling over.

"Yeah, I was really pissed about that one," Carroll said. "I don't know what's going to happen with that, but I was pissed because that guy hurt him, unfortunately."

Mike McCarthy defended Hill on Monday.

"By no means do we want to see a player hurt, but trust me, there was zero intent involved there," McCarthy said.

Carson is currently considered week-to-week.

Pete Carroll Upbeat For Sunday's Game Despite Smoky Air

Sep 17, 2020 8:52 AM

Pete Carroll is hopeful that the poor air quality in Western Washington will improve in time for Sunday night's New England Patriots-Seattle Seahawks game at CenturyLink Field.

Smoke from wildfires around Washington state has blown into the Seattle area and compromised the air quality enough to move the Seahawks into their indoor facility Wednesday for their first practice of the week.

"We're in direct connection with [the NFL] and they are monitoring what's going on as we are as well," Carroll said. "Hopefully we get a good shift in the weather here by the weekend. It looks it could change tomorrow some and into the weekend, but we're very cognizant of it and we're working to figure it out."

Josh Gordon Re-Signs With Seahawks

Sep 3, 2020 9:55 PM

The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed Josh Gordon.

Gordon applied for reinstatement in mid-June after he was suspended indefinitely in December for violations of the league's policies on performance-enhancing substances and substances of abuse.

"Josh's experience with us was really positive. He worked really hard, studied hard, came through when he had his chances in games, made some incredible plays and left us with a really good impression,'' coach Pete Carroll said. "We've told you all along that we really liked the experience we had, and we were hoping that all along, if there was a chance to get him back, we would want to get him back. So we'll just have to wait and see when, but we're happy to have the opportunity to bring him to our club.''

Gordon only had 10 targets in five games last season with the Seahawks.

Chris Carson, Seahawks Haven't Discussed Extension

Sep 2, 2020 8:07 AM

Chris Carson says he hasn't discussed a contract extension with the Seattle Seahawks.

The running back is entering the final year of his rookie deal.

"Not really, no," Carson said when asked if he's spoken to the Seahawks about his future.

"Of course it's something that's on my mind," Carson said of his contract. "You see a lot of guys, they're starting to get paid, but I try not to [let it] distract me from this season. I just try to push it away, but like I said, it is something that's on my mind but I try not to let it affect me."

He was a seventh-round pick in 2017.
